Question about Rival SCV702 Slow Cooker

Open Question

I have the model SCV401 in red and there is a crack around the outside edge at the bottom of the stoneware insert. Is this a defect? I notice many other people describing the same problem. If it is not a defect, where and how can I get a replacement stoneware insert for this crock Pot? Mary Olson my e-mail address is golson@ptsi.net.

SOURCE: Stoneware insert

I found the solution to the problem for parts. The web site is www.crock-pot.com this is the site for replacements. The part number for the Model # 3745-4.5 qt is #238-180-GR. BUT it is out of stock at this time so I called the 800# and was told that it will be available the middle of January. You can order it on line then or call 1-800-323-9519. Price is $10.00. Hope this helps everyone

SOURCE: Rival Crock Pot LIner replacement

I Broke the lid to my Rival Smart Crock-Pot (6 Quart). I just bought a new one...but I have a black stone and the bottom half...all in great condition. I would be willing to give it to anyone who needed it for the cost of shipping it to you. Just tell me where to send it ...I hate to just throw it out.

I have a round, forest green stoneware liner for a Rival crock pot. The liner has no divider. The liner has no chips or cracks. Sorry but I cannot remember to which model number this stoneware liner fit; but I can tell you that the Rival crock pot I had was either a 5 to 6 quart and it fit a plastic lid.

SOURCE: Rival Model # 3150/2 3 1/2 qt. crock pot/ slow cooker circa. 1984

I have a brown stoneware liner for model 3150/2 3.5 qt. crock pot that is in perfect condition. I was looking for a lid since my chipped beyond safe usage, and I threw it out. I am willing to part with my faithful liner and the outer part as well which worked wonderfully last time I used them (earlier this month - June 2008). If you are willing to pay $10 plus the cost of my shipping it to you, let me know at setfreetoo@verizon.net.

NO, these stoneware inserts are not meant for the high dry heat of conventional ovens. It will crack in the oven...use only in the crockpot!

Stoneware inserts show up at second hand stores all the time...that is if the manufacturer doesn't offer replacement parts.

My insert also cracked after only a few months use--no known

This sounds like a manufacturing issue - either due to a bad thermostat (unlikely since the temps would have to get very high) or issues with the kilning of the clay (I would guess a too quick cool down). Call the manufacturer - this should be covered by the warranty.

Cracked stoneware to scv552-cm slow cooker

As far as being under warranty, that depends on when you bought it. If it is not covered any longer, go to replacements.com and search for your make and model. If you cannot find it there, try eBay. You can find just about anything on eBay.

I have looked everywhere and can't find a specific replacement for your crock.

The only recommendation I have at this point is to contact Rival. They have a customer service email that you can send them a message through their Help menu.
http://www.rivalproducts.com/help.aspx?helpNav=3

I sent them a message asking about a replacement for your crock specifically but they wanted more information than I had to give them (something about a number on the bottom of the crock pot).

Give that a try and perhaps they can get you a replacement?

Good luck...
