The frost on the back wall of the freezer is a usuall indication that there is a problem with the defrost circuit, defrost heater, thermastat, or the defrost timer.you can use a blow dryer and defrost the evaporator coil.remove the rear panel in the freezer to gain access to the evaporator coil.you also need to make sure that the evaprorator fan is functioning properly.

Are fans running? Any frost buildup on inside back freezer wall?

Whrilpool refrigerator will not cool.

First, put the control back to it's normal setting. Turning it colder is not going to help. Then check the obvious, the coils underneath need to be cleaned, and the fan needs to be running. And check to see if there is a heavy frost on the back wall inside the freezer. If there is it could indicate a defrosting problem. Both will cause the temperature to rise. Also, be sure the fan in the freezer is running.

Frig too warm, freezer works great, but frost on back wall

It sounds like the fridge is not going through the defrost cylce due to a faulty defrost thermostat.

The refrigerator temperature ins 50 and the freezer is 15. Is this the appropriate temperature? The butter is soft at this temperature

the fridge should not be above 40 degrees and the freezer not above 30. check back wall of freezer for frost. if so, coils are iced up and need to be defrosted. either take off back wall of freezer and melt ice with warm water or hair dryer, or unplug unit and let it set with doors open for a day. then clean up the water.

Check for frost about 1 foot up on the back wall in the freezer section . Is so , then a defrost problem is there .

Whirlpool refrig not cooling

is the fan in the freezer working when compressor is on? if not you need to replace it. do you have a large frost build up on the back wall of the freezer? if so you have a defrost problem, or back to the evaporator fan. If the fan is working you have a defrost problem which could mean a bad heater, timer, or bad defrost thermostat....

Left not transfering cold enough air to right side. doesn't get colder than 50 degrees, why?

Remove back panel of freezer (where you see the frost) and melt the frost with a hair blower. The frost blocked evaporator coils are not allowing air to pass over the cold coils, so no cold air is able to get to the fresh foods section. You will most likely need to replace the defrost heater at the bottom of the evap coils to prevent this from reoccurring in two weeks time.
