Question about Yamaha RX-V870 Receiver

1 Answer

Both my 10 year old Yamaha RX-V870 receiver and my 10 year old Yamaha RX-570 receiver won't stay on. When I press the power switch, the display lights up and after about three or four seconds, both units turn off (not hooked up at the same time, of course but they both have the same problem). Every time that I press the power switch the receiver turns on for a few seconds, then goes off. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

You have a shorted component, which one will take testing and a factory repair guide.

SOURCE: is Yamaha RX-V870 Receiver worth

Its worth what someone is willing to pay. A search of completed eBay auctions tells me it has a fair market value of $50   to $100 HERE is one available for under $100 currently. So your short answer is - NO

Yamaha rxv 870 - volume does not work from remote(s)

hi i have the same problem. yamaha rx-v870 with a remote control that works perfectly except for the volume up/down. i pressed the buttons for a minute and applied some lemon gunk remover liquid and this helped for a very short period. i am wondering if the problem is with the little motor inside the receiver that rotates the volume knob itself, as opposed to an infrared problem on the transmitter/receiver.
