Question about DeLonghi Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a PACL90model portable air conditioner bought it from a friend. It does not work as well as expected. I have cleaned the filter, made sure the air hoses are vented properly and still not very cool. Do these units need to be recharged? How big of a room should they cool? Thanks for your time.

Thanks so much. The area we are trying to cool is around 300 sq. ft., but it is not enclosed and there is a hallway. So it is probably doing as well as it can. Thanks again

A/C's should not need to be recharged unless there is a problem. They do not "use" freon the way a car could "use" a little oil. The best way to check is with a thermometer. Check the air where the unit is sucking in and the check the air where it is blowing out. The air coming out should be around 20-26 degrees colder that what is going in. Your unit is rated at 10,000btu or four fifths of one ton- it should be able to handle a standard, normally insulated area of approximately 300 sq ft.

I have ice shooting from my air conditioner, How can I solve this problem?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you have ice shooting from your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAK104R1V, and want to know how to stop this from happening. First, check the air filter to make sure it is clean and there is no frost build-up on the cooling coil. If the coil is frozen, set your air conditioner to "Fan Only" mode, to defrost. Then set the temperature to a higher setting. Secondly, I suggest slightly tilting your air conditioner to the outside, to allow water drainage. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My portable. Air conditioner. Isn't cooling

Could be a number of things, Is the compressor running? If so, are the filters clean? ( Both the outlet and the inlet filters.) One at the front where the air comes out and one at the back where the air goes in.

NewAir AC-14000E not blowing ice cold air

Unfortunately there can be several reasons for your AC-14000E portable air conditioner not cooling well. As with most portable air conditioners the filter grates on the rear of the unit can be removed for cleaning. When those are removed you may be able to clean some portion of condenser coils. There is also the possibility that your portable AC has a refrigerant leak in the system and will not be able to cool effectively without a repair (which usually costs as much as a new portable AC). Portable AC's are not designed to be recharged and operate on a sealed refrigerant line so even finding someone able to repair it may be a challenge. Your best bet is contacting the company you bought it from and talking through some solutions, they most likely have experience with these units and should be able to help you.

Haier Model HPR09XC7 is 2 or 3 years old and no longer cools as well as it once did. How do I fix this?

Try cleaning the filter if you have already done that find the condenser coil where hot air comes out make sure that is clean use a hose to clean the coil. If that doesnt work you probably have a refrigeration leak somewhere and need to scrap unit and buy new one. Portable A/C units are very disposable. If this helps please rate me and do a testimonial.

I have HAIER HPAC 99ER Portable air conditioner and just quit working. There is a red flashing light blinking.

Make sure your filter & the coils (area under the filter) are clean or that the evaporated water is not overfilled by draining it manually by pulling the plug on the lower rear of the unit (into a bucket of course.) I'm hoping you had gotten an answer sooner...
