Question about Optics

1 Answer

Hi, I have a problem with setting up wireless connection on My webcam, I bought this webcam a China Vision CVLM-133 IP WiFi cam,and followed instructions I enabled it for wireless on the settings page of camera administrator page, following log on, anyway the image and everything is fine, fine that is until I pull the cable connection from the router to the camera, as soon as this cable is removed the camera link disappears from the log on page, therefore I can't log on, However as soon as I plug the cable back in the the rear of the camera from the router the camera link reappears and I can log on, to the camera page, I need to be able to remove this cable while maintaining a wireless link (it is not wireless because of this cable having to be plugged in), Because I did not buy this camera from China Vision they refuse to help, also the seller will not/cannot help me either. Please note that there is wireless link from router to PC, but not from router to camera (because of this cable connection having to be maintained),I therefore would be very pleased if someone can help me with this problem that I have, thanks, John

Check the cameras wireless settings if it can find your wireless network. If not you have to check your router settings just remember cvlm-133 not work in N series wireless network

Why doesn't my netgear extender ask for name and password when I try to use it to connect to internet. It tells me that there is an authentication problem

Hi there! smile.gif Please note that the Tenda 150mbps Wireless Range Extender A3 uses a default IP address of 192.168.0.254 - you must set your IP address to the 192.168.0.* range (* = any number between 2 and 253) to login.

The default access username / password (if required) are admin and admin.

Once you've logged in, you can configure the access point to route through your existing wireless router as the default gateway (eg. if your wifi router is 192.168.1.1, then you would route through that, and set your Repeater (Extender) IP to 192.168.1.2 so that you can connect to it and then "relay" your connection through the repeater. It doesn't mirror the connection details for the existing wifi router, it simply creates an "additional" access point to connect through to your existing wifi router - creating a bridge, essentially.

The extender can be linked to the existing wifi router via LAN cable or WDS. For WDS, you will need to set the IP's 1 digit apart in the last segment (see above IP difference), and switch them both in the Wireless menu to ""Wireless Networking Mode: Network Bridge (WDS), but the SSID must remain the same (eg. "Tenda1") for both of them (it doesn't cause a network loopback), and any wireless security authentication must be identical (password / pass phrase / key + encryption algorithm) on both devices. Again, as with the above point, remember to set the gateway of the extender / repeater to that of the primary WiFi router.

My laptop will not conect to wireless unless it is wired to the router? is there a fix for this?

A couple of things to check.

Is the wireless router using WIFI? (Obvious question I know)

- If not, connect to 192.168.1.1
- Login = admin, password
- Activate wifi

If your router has it's wfi turned on, try the following;

- Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services and make sure WLAN Autoconfig is set to Automatic and started.
- Also make sure the following services are set to Automatic and started:
- Windows Connect Now
- TCP/IP Netbios Helper
- Simple TCP/IP Services
- Network Connections

Good Luck

I have a iphone 3gs and want to access wifi or wireless on toshiba satellite pro x200

Hi,

Laptop normally have single chip WiFi or Wireless Cards...

These cards could be used as client(connecting to wireless router), adhoc or access point(a WiFi card could be used as Access Point to route your LAN(Wired) connection on WLAN)...

Your laptop WiFi card is already busy as a Cleint, so if you want to use it as AdHoc, you have to remove all the other connection with the WIreless...ie, Disconnect the WLAN from connecting other devices, and follow the below mentioed steps to connect your device..

When you are using Client mode you are not able to use it on Ad-hoc or Access Point feature...

Setup laptop to Ad-Hoc
1)Navigate to control panel and choose network connection, Right click on the Wireless network connection and click on the Properties on Wireless NIC
2) Click-Wireless Networks Tab
3) Click-Add
4) Provide SSID Name, name to identify you rnetwork
5)Security -Net Auth: Open
6)Make -Data Encryption: Disabled
7) In the check box present-Check on This is a Computer to Computer (ad-hoc) network.
Change the IP address of the Wireless NIC card, by choosing TCp IP in the properties of WLAN and choosing TCP/IP v4 from the installed service

TCP/IP on Laptop
-IP: 10.0.0.1
-Subnet: 255.255.255.0

TCP/IP on iPhone
-Static IP
-IP: 10.0.0.2
-Subnet: 255.255.255.0

Now try searching for Wireless through your phone, you should able to connect..
Please leave me comment, if you need further assistance
