No, what you hope is not possible. The only thing that is possible is to put it on pause and then resume the playing. If you stop it, it will return to the beginning of the disk and, if you had a custom list of tracks to be played, it will be deleted.

Dvd player skips and stops

You may need to buy a lasor cleaning disk. It's a disk that has a little brush on it and it quite literally dusts the lasor inside the dvd player. (higher chance of it being this if it's an older player, or you've had it a few years.) Where to buy: http://www.amazon.com/Allsop-56500-CD-Laser-Lens-Cleaner/dp/B00000J1QK

Cant set a new windows xp

OK this may work for you.... At the point in the installation where you are asked to push F6, Push F5 instead. I had this same problem with my 12 unsuccessful attempts at an XP install. It has something to do with the ACPI driver. not only did the disc stop spinning, but the computer would restart. I tried pushing F5 and selected standard PC and it worked. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299340/

Stopping partway through a CD.

This is not possible to change as it is the nature of all CD players, unlike DVD players which give you the stop/resume function. Cd players have a similar function called pause, but other than that its alm,ost impossible to fully stop and start off again from where you left off unless you skip to the track and hold the skip button to fast foward/rewind.

Pioneer deh-p2000 cd player

Sue,

I checked the Pioneer Database and your device is no longer supported.

But I have installed several Pioneer products over the years and they a re pretty consistent in their wiring patterns.

There is a Yellow wire on the harness that is much larger diameter than the rest. This is the one that needs to be connected to a constant +12 volt source to alleviate your problems.

Best of Luck.
