Question about HP 19bII Calculator

When pressing SHIFT+DISP (MODES) I only get the options D/R, BEEP, PRNTR and INTL so I can not change the algebraic mode to RPN. Pleasse advise

    First of all I am not a moron. I am following the manual of the calculator and I just do not get RPN nor MORE.

How do you clear RNP for an HP 12C


I take it you mean a 12C Platinum.

Press f ALG. ALG is the f-shifted function of the EEX key, just above the double-size ENTER key. This will switch the 12C Platinum from RPN mode to Algebraic mode, and ALG indicator will light up instead of the RPN indicator.

To switch back to RPN, press f RPN. RPN is the f-shifted function of the CHS key just above the EEX key.

How do I put my HP 30b in RPN mode?


Press SHIFT [MODE] then down-arrow until you get to "Algebraic" or "Chain" depending on the current mode then INPUT until you get to "RPN." Press ON when done.

HP 35s in OCT mode, calculations don't work


There are two separate issues here.

Your calculator is in Algebraic mode. To switch to RPN, press MODE 5 .

Your calculator is also in Octal mode. To switch to Decimal, press right-shift 1 1 .

HP12C - get rid of RPN


Press f ALG to switch to the Algebraic mode.

ALG is the shifted function of the EEX key.

Stuck in alg mode


Assuming you have a 12C Platinum, press f [RPN] to switch from the algebraic to the RPN mode. [RPN] is the shifted function of the CHS key on the top row of the keyboard.

The HP 12c is a purely RPN calculator; it does not have an algebraic mode.

To switch the HP 12c Platinum to algebraic, press f [ALG].
