You just need to have it replaced by apple. (or an apple store) just go onto the apple site and type in the search box "store finder". at the bottom of the page click the "site map" and scroll to "support." when you find it look through the links and click "request a repair." after that you just need to request a screen repair.

If you are going to try and get it fixed at an apple store, then you just need to find a store near you. (i recommend google maps.) just walk in and ask an apple store clerk about repairs. hope this helps!

My screen cracked completely. I can still use multitouch, but it is hard to read. Is this easy to replace by myself?

Not terribly hard to replace.

The above link is for a 1st Generation iPod Touch, if you have a later generation just select it from the menu at the left side of the page.

These guys also have good walkthroughs for the replacement procedures.

Hope this helps.

How do you repair a scratched iPod touch screen

Hello and thanks for contacting FixYa Technical Support.

As an experience Mac Tech I admire your desire to seek how to repair this iPod, but just in case you may be thinking of a DIY (Do It Yourself) process, I would highly recommend against it. I have seen the sophisticated technology that Apple has put into these units and if you are not trained on on how to repair an iPod Touch (or iPhone) I would recommend you send it in to a local Apple-authorized service provider who repairs iPod Touch models in your area.

Or feel free to click the link I have provided you below, for one of my iPod /iPod Touch/iPhone repair services of choice as a tech,

You will find that their pricing is better suited for most budgets than if you were go directly to the manufacturer (Apple Inc.) and try to get this iPod Touch repaired. And believe it or not, they would even tell you that!

Here is there link:

I hope this will proved helpful for you.

Should you have more questions please feel free to reply to this post.

Cracked ipod touch screen

If I am not mistaking the warranty does not cover being left in a hot car. Try calling apple and tell them you just got your Ipod touch 2 days ago and you were downloading songs to it and while doing so it overheated and cracked. Thats considered a mechanical problem. Good Luck!
