  3. Ensure the LCD backlight is turned on by pressing the DISPLAY button several times until the screen appears. What's wrong with my sony cyber-shot DSC-T70 because i haven't done anything yet the screen is totally black, but still it functions, I really can't see any figure on the screen. Please advice... rj

Please make sure that the battery is fully charged and try to increase the LCD brightness by touching the DISP button on the screen. Check if you are able to access the Menu. If yes, then, please Initialize the camera under Main settings 1 Menu. If you are not able to access the menu, you may have to power reset the camera by removing the battery and press n hold the power button for 1 minute continuously. After that leave the button and insert the battery and check if it helps. If the issue still persists, your camera will require service.

Flash doesn't work

Hello Laura, Try to hard reset the camera at first. This can be done by removing the battery and pressing the power button for about 1-2 min (keep it pressed). After that, press every other button twice (including zoom, menu and shuter buttons). Then press again the power button for about 1-2 min. After that reconnect the battery and go to auto-settings. If this doesn't work there is a problem with either the camera's firmware or the internal flash capacitor. Either of these will require service intervention because they will need to dissasemble the camera and run a diagnostic. This shouldn't be an expensive repair IF the camera doesn't show on the screen an error message something like E:16:00 blinking (when you take pictures). If this is the case, the flash assembly is damaged and needs to be replaced (this costs about $50-$60) otherwise it should be cheaper. For more informations please reply back.
