Question about Maytag Washing Machines
All Maytags (greater than 2 yrs old) have belts that are prone to wear and slippage. (thus the odor) In all but one model is the belt is visible and replaceable beneath the machine. Simply lift and tip the machine back to gain access. In one model, the front panel will have to be removed in order to replace the belt. This is a good place to start, inexpensive and simple to replace..
Other causes for belts burning are:
1. Failed transmission
2. Failed water pump or debris stuck in water pump....
If I can be of any further assistance, let me know
