Your best bet would be to check Ebay for anything like that for that machine. Not only has it been discontinued, there are no parts (new) available.

I just searched, and Ebay has one for 15$.

Good luck.

No power

Those have a tendency to short out in the wands. Use a test light or meter to find out where the power stops. Test lower wand first then upper then hose, then unit. Replacement wands are available, there's really no fixing them. I'll include a link to the wands I'm referring to.

The wand that connects to the power head at the powerhead connection broke(sheared off) fine crack

Hello,

Unfortunatley the Wand for your Miele is sold as an entirely assembly only. Miele does not sell pieces of this wand separately. In order to fix your wand you'll need to purchase a new wand assembly complete.

The wand on your Miele is the Miele SET210 Wand. Here's a link if you need to purchase one;
http://www.govacuum.com/miele-172.html

I would probably guess that your wand broke off right at the bottom where it connects into the power nozzle. Unfortunately this is the weakest part of the wand as you can probably see. The wand narrows into a thinner plastic here, and I've seen a few wands crack off right on the bottom part.

Please feel free to request a repair clarification if you have any questions about how to repair your vacuum.

Wand

I just took my DC17 apart to determine the problem (noted above). Basically it seems like there is a 'nub' on the lower part of the extension wand. Actually, there are two on either side, one higher (white, facing the back) than the other (black, facing the front). The lower one (black) acts as a brake for when you yank the wand out - it stops the wand from coming out all the way. The little black nub is hitting the inside ribs of the hose and stopping, impeding the wand from pulling out. What seems to have happened is that the hose has constricted a little too much and the diameter is 'smaller' by just a little and therefore the nub catches. Use the trick I mentioned above to work the hose off, a little at a time. Once you get enough hose, you can stretch the hose and it will then pull out without catching. To keep it from doing it again? I am not sure, but if you were to turn the wand/hose counter-clockwise to loosen the coil inside the hose, this may just open up the inside a little bit. I have done this and it is seeming to work. So every time I use the wand, I will unwind the hose counter-clockwise a little bit and see if this helps....

My Panasonic performance plus platinum vacuum cuts off and on while using the beater bar, this doesn't happen at all using the stair cleaning attachment. It appear electrical contact is being lost where...

The solution to my problem which is located at the lower electrical plug on the long wand was to expermint using a nickel and placing this in an area where the long wand connects with the beater bar section, here there is a gap which allows too much clearance thus losing electrical contact at times and then making contact. A nickel is about .075 thousands thick so I hacksawed a flat piece of metal that was this same thickness, the other dimensions of this little piece are 3/8 inch wide by 5/8 in length, I then forced this little piece in the above mentioned gap which places tension maintaining electrical contact. It works fine now, there is either wear in the electrical contacts plug in, a new lower electrical plug in line will fix this but I can order one later I need to vacuum the whole house so now I can. Electrolux Ambassador stainless lower wand

I am trying to locate a stainless lower wand for an Electrolux Ambassador model 1623. The search has proven fruitless so far. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. A couple of thought came to mind that you can try. Look in the yellow pages for your local vacuum dealer to see if they carry it to contact your Electrolux factory @ the phone # listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Replacement wand for canister

Whne you had your first problem with it, the cord at the bottom probably should have replaced also, if one end gets scrotched, the other end does also. One big reason why this happens is connecting and dis-connecting the power head while power is still applied to it. When you hook your skillet and it is turned on, it will arc, so does the contacts on the hose and power head. That prong is rusty, it is scrotched. Don't know if you can substitude, you might try to find a shop that has other wands and see if you can find a fit, either that or buy the one that is supposed to be with it.

Losing power to stick/floor vacuum

if you have an extension wand, the replacement will cost about $100.00. there is a way to repair both the pwr-cord on the brush assemble and the wand, but it depends on how much damage there is. also you need to check the contacts where the wand connects with the handle, and the prongs on the handle.

let me know if you still need help
