Its not uncommon for these drain pumps to leak fortunately the are very easy to replace. Place a small pan under pump remove both hoses and then pop off the retaining clips and pull the pump forward. line up the new pumps drive slot with the drive shaft coming off the motor reinstall retaining clips and hoses Good Luck

remove the water pump. it may be broken by water freezing iside. also make sure you dont use the washer if ambient temp in room is below freezing. freezing will damage water valves, pumps and freeze grease inside the gearcase.

My washing machine is a Roper top load washer. The problem I am having is that the pump from the cold water drain from under the washing machine. Do I need another pump? The hot water will work. I use the...

This model is a direct drive with only one pump, the drain pump. If the drain pump leaks, which is a common problem on these models, it will leak no matter what temperature wash is selected! If you a have a leak on cold, it will probably also leak on warm wash. Your problem is your solenoid operated fill valve on the cold side. Only one fill hose comes off of this combination fill valve to your fill plenum at the top back of your tub. So if it leaks on the cold, but not hot, check for a crack in the plastic housing of the valve on the cold half. The valve is located on the inside back of the machine on top right when looking at the front of the machine. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to replace.

Hope this helps

Water is coming from the machine. we have checked the hoses but did not find any cracks. Any suggestion on what it could be and how to fix it?

The hose that connects at the water pump may be your culprit in the leak. Otherwise, the tub gasket is leaking.

If you are able, position the washer on top of 4 concrete blocks (1 at each corner), that should make it easier to see underneath with a mirror to see where the water is coming from, and verify that water is leaking from the pump area.

Roper washer leaks when filling

It's in the drain hose somewhere, during the fill the water gets as deep in the drain hose as it does in the washer, during the wash the pump runs in reverse keeping the water level in the hose low, during the drain the hose is filled again.
Prop the washer up in front on a couple bricks or boards, start putting in water until it starts to leak and take a peak under the machine.

Leaking wash machine

Depending on where exactly the leak is coming from, it could be a drain hose, drain pump, or tub seal. If this is a top-loader, here's how you can tell:

1. If the leak is coming from the BACK area under the washer, this can be caused by a leaking fill hose, dispenser hose, drain hose, or fill valve.
2. If the leak is coming from UNDER the center area of the washer, this could be your tub seal, a crack in the tub, or an air dome hose leak. NOTE: If the air dome hose is leaking, the washer will fill continuously and not turn off.
3. If the leak appears to be coming from the FRONT under the washer, this could be your drain pump, or drain hoses.

Posting a model number, could assist with determining how your washer is configured. I suspect you may have a drain pump leaking as this is the most common cause, but I want to be sure.

I have a roper washing machine Model# RAX 4232RQ4 that leaks water near the front, checked hoses and drain all seemed fine, how do I disassemble cabinet to look at?

it may be a bad pump they are usually toward the fron of the washer. Just tip it back far enough so you can look under it while laying on your back make sure it doesn't come back down on you. When a pump goes bad it will leak where it connects to the motor shat. simple and easy to change Good Luck.

Roper washer does not drain

Alicia7q : Faulty water pump or restriction in drain line between tub and outlet hose.

arlenekc,: That metal thing is part of the motor. What you have is a leaking water pump.

badwasher,: Check the lid switch. This machine will not spin or drain if the switch is faulty.
