There are two screws holding an access cover on the top front half of the mixer. These screws are normally plainly visible - has it been repainted heavily enough to hide the screws?

If you can't see the screws, all I can say is they are there, under the paint. Maybe shine a flashlight accross the top front half at an angle and look for a hint of a slotted screw head in the paint.
I'm not sure what the access cover is made of nor am I certain if the screws are stainless steel, but if the cover is aluminum and the screws aren't stainless steel, then a magnet should be able to locate the screws for you.
The screws a usually a domed-flathead screw, so some very close inspection of the paint surface may show a slight "bump" where the srews are.

Beatriz, I looked through the entire manual, it shows no reverse option. Did you just get the mixer or did you have it repaired. It seams the mixer is either wired wrong or the gears that rotate the mixer were not assembled correctly.
Check the attached link, manual, instruction and guides, Good luck

I've a hobart a200 that i want to recondition. How to remove the motor inspection cover. There 's a bearing with a nut, how to remove the nut, the rotorshaft keeps turning.

First, remove the steel ring sitting recessed into the hole where the nuts are.

Remove the top transmission cover (top front of mixer, two screws) allowing access to the motor's cooling fan blade.

Using a small prybar (or large, if you wish), prevent rotation of the rotor by placing the prybar on one fin of the fan blade, and bracing it against the mixer's frame. Remove nuts with a 3/4" socket and ratchet.

Looking 4 used parts A200

The safety cage kit is not cheap and you may not find a used cage. Why would you want to install used gears? They would have been removed from a mixer that has failed for some reason. Usually broken gears or shafts.

? Hobart A200 Mincer/Mixer wont work

What kind of bang was it ? an electrical or mechanical. The A-200 has a stator and rotor assy with a start capacitor and relay behind the back cover at the head of the unit. You can access the retaining nut for the rotor (motor) shaft by removing the small 2 inch cover and getting a wrench on the nut and spinning it by hand. The handle you mentioned with the three numbered selections are your speed settings and everything is driven through a planetary drive. Hobart A-200 have been around longer than I have (im 48) and are work horses and in my opinion, are the top of the line for mixers. Put it this way, I would take a 25 year old A-200 over a brand new Varimixer or other brand name. You can access parts manuals and break downs on Hobarts web site with model # and M/L # any other question e-mail me capt_rick1912@yahoo.com if you cant find what you are looking for I will e-mail you a wiring diagram (found behind the small gear selection cover on side) Good Luck......Rick
