I was given one of these televisions a couple of days ago because it was broken. The television powers on and you can actually watch tv, but the screen is green. Any ideas on what it might be and how hard of a fix?

I think that is the culprit, thank you. I am also having issues with some wavy red lines and cannot align the red using the convergance utility. Is this another tube issue or a convergance issue?

It would be unlikely that green CRT is the problem.
Check convergence menu and see if you can move the red and blue adjustment and if the green lines are normal.
If convergence is OK, then most likely, screen/focus pack. Resistor open in green part of screen/focus pack

You need a green CRT you can get a replacement CRt at the following link cheap and it comes with instructions on how to install it. takes about a hour to switch them out as theirs come with lens and coolant so you just have to switch them and plug it in.

It could be related to the green CRT still as the green , red and blue convergence yokes all plug into the convergence board. I would address the issue with the green CRT and then see as one of the ICs controls the red and half the green convergence and the other IC controls blue and the other half of the green. So depending on the severity of the green CRTs short it can affect the red as well and quite possibly the blue. Let me know if you need more assistance with the issue.
