Question about JBL CREATURE II Computer Speakers

Fixing power supply

Ok. I read your post about how to fix the creature jbl power supply where you say we have to open it to get the fuse and replace it. Well, I would like to know how can I open the box since it is locked. Do I have to use a knife or some knife or a hot iron? How do I do it?

The power supply that I have doesn't work either, but I think the fuse was changed already and may have been replaced with the wrong fuse. What fuse should be used in the power supply?

    I have a similar problem.

Facts: The fuse is located within the power supply and is a 5amp quickblow type. The power supply casing needs to be prised apart with a flat bladed screwdriver or similar. Takes a bit of doing - might even need a bit of of a hammer.

However, as the fuse has now blown three times as soon as I replaced it I deduced that it must be something else. I've opened up the woofer itself and can't see anything suspicious.

So, I'm also stuck. Anyone else?

Hello, sorry for late reply. See last post:
"The power supply casing needs to be prised apart with a flat bladed screwdriver or similar. Takes a bit of doing - might even need a bit of of a hammer."

You have to slightly damage the casing to prise the two halves apart and it won't go back together properly - needs must!
In any case, replacing the fuse doesn't solve the problem as they keep blowing. There is a fault somewhere causing this to happen and that's where I'm stuck.
Anyone else??

JBL CREATURE II soundspeakers are dead without power

When the power to the system was applied to the speakers before you realized the cables were chewed, you blew some components in the power boards to the speakers. You could look to see if there are replaceable fuses. Otherwise a trip to the repair shop or new speakers.

No power to computer speakers

if the cable is fixed correctly then it would seem when your dog chewed through the cable the cables met and caused a power short out that has blown some of the internal electronics components there fore the unit will not work. taking into consideration the price of jbl creature speakers it would be cheaper to replace the unit than to have repaired ..

i hope this helped

JBL Creature 2 Blowing Fuse

There will be a short somewhere in the power supply. If you replace the fuse it will blow again. You COULD try a larger ampage fuse, but any electrician would not recommend this!
