its some B.S. along with the answer that was given..... the printer , while making copies, is acting as though it is scanning the item you are trying to copy and then takes damn near 10 minutes to copy a single page. i guess the real way to go is KODAK

Both these issues could be caused by a dirty media sensor. If this is the issue you may be able to improve things by selecting "plain paper" rather than "Automatic".

You can also try cleaning the sensor. The sensor is on the bottom of a black plastic piece mounted to the side of the carriage. Open the printer lid as if you were going to change the cartridges, then gently move the carriage about an inch to the left. There is a small black part mounted toward the bottom rear of the carriage. The sensor is on the underside of this. You could try cleaning the sensor with a damp Q-tip. Be careful not to get in the service station area where there is waste ink. This can be messy, be especially careful not to get ink on the sensor.

If the sensor was the issue normal printing could take several hundred passes of the carriage, with the paper moving just a bit after each swath. There is another possibility for slow printing, where the printhead pauses for 8-15 seconds at the end of each swath. This may be caused by a cartridge issue. In this case try removing the cartridges and cleaning the contact pads as shown here (for a different printer series, but similar....). If the carriage still pauses for 8-15 seconds after each swath then one of the cartrdgies will need to be replaced.

HP Office jet 7310 all in one. Suddenly will not print after a very light printing. Low ink message did not come on.

Hp devices are famous for simply stopping printing if they even 'think' they are out of ink. The way this is done is electrically through the circuity on the ink cartridges. Two things I'd recommend:
1) Remove each cartridge and take a pencil eraser and rub up and down with the eraser on the circuit side of the cartridge. Don't over do it, but do rub until you see the metal become a bit shinier. Then reinstall the cartridge and see if the problem goes away.
2) Try a new cartridge and see if the issue goes away. Always a good practice to keep a spare on hand!
Hope this helps!

It is printing very very slow

Try this....when you go to print click on properties and then
color....then print in greyscale. It should then print much, much more
quickly. I had the same problem and it appears that when you print in
color on a network, it uses the graphics mode rather than a text.

HP 7310 black cartridge keep getting error

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.

This printer starts printing really really slow, and then half way through just fails to print and stops printing. what to do?

I've also been experiencing this problems--for months now. It happens only when printing over the network. Prints fine via the USB connection.

How to set a printer to print only 1 copy no matter what # is put

You cannot do it -- when you request '3' copies, the computer sends 3 times as much text & commands to the printer. So, the printer cannot tell when the 2nd and 3rd copy begins.

Printing problems with HP officejet 7310

You actually have to get the HP drivers uninstalled and then go through the registry to delete all instances of HP and then reinstall drivers ,making sure you have the drivers for Vista and not XP. For going through the registry you must know what you are doing. I can assist.

Make sure you have visited the HP web site for the OfficeJet 7310 (it's not the 10xi model, is it?)

Check out the page on troubleshooting copying problems.

See if your vertical lines issue is addressed on this page.

Slow Printing

it may just be a slow printer head, maybe an upgrade is in order. look on the box for page printing speed.
it may also be that you have the resolution set too high for basic printing. try turning this down slightly.

hope this helps.
