Question about Whirlpool Ovens

Just purchased a Whirlpool WFG381LS range; converted to propane; burners light but oven/broiler won't

the oven came with only four conversion orifaces for surface burners so the oven shouldn't require a conversion orifice. I checked with the store and they confirmed that that was the entire "conversion kit." oven ignitor was adjusted to "snug" as per specs. oven just clicks trying to light. seems like no gas (no smell, no visual) is getting to the oven. Could it be a problem with the internal gas line? Oven is brand new..

Hi,

A few questions....

Was the oven orfice for sure changed for LP??

Was the regulator changed for LP?? on some units the oven has a separate regulator...

Is the ignitor trying to light??? glowing or clicking...

On some units the ignitor may have to be adjusted a bit to get the gas to light...nat. gas rises and LP sinks...

The answer to your problem will be somewhere in one of these questions...

There should have been an orfice for the oven or at least the oven will have a provision to turn the existing orfice either in or out to change the burner from Nat. to LP...

There is no way that the burner would remain the same for both....

Whirlpool Range model RF386PXGQ2 broiler won't shut off

Hi.

If the element does not turn off, possible faults are:

Shorted temperature probe.
Test temperature probe reading impedance. If impedance is zero or lower than 0.500 Ohms, the the probe is shorted. A good probe reads about 1KOhms.

Contact at element. A contact in element wiring harness may cause the element to stay on. Do continuity test between ground and element and on wiring harness.

Defective control module.
If problem is none of the above, then it is the oven electronic control(ERC). The ERC can be tested reading voltages.

Testing must be done by a trained technician.

The gas is connected on the rear side of the stove but the pilot light is not lit, nor will it light. trying to trouble shoot the problem before deciding to purchase a new oven/range. Also, I remember...

You may have a pilotless ignition.Check around door frames for model #plate.
Also , open broiler door ,turn on oven and look inside . If you see an orange glow appear after awhile, that is the electronic igniter and you have an electronic ignition(no pilot). In this case the top burners use a spark ignition system. If you don,t hear clicking when you turn on a burner your ignition module might be bad.
Easily fixed though.

Purchased a used gas oven yesterday. The top burners are working fine, but the oven is sooting up. We live in the country and use propane, but did not receive any additional orfice or instructions. In the...

We need a model number to be specific.
Check the gas regulator and make sure the pressure cap has been set for propane. Most of them are turned over to put more pressure inside the valve.
If so. Check the air shutter on the bake gas tube and adjust for the best color flame.
Also tighten the bake burner orifice with a 1/2 inch wrench.

Whirlpool Accubake Super Capacity 465 gas range. Oven won't light

Some gas ranges may take 10 or so minutes to light.
Other than that you may have a defective glow bar ignitor.
If it glows and does not light the reistance in the ignitior has failed.

Broiler works, as do burners. The oven will not come on. Gas whirlpool range 2003 year. Model SF367LEKB

jdelvecchio5Does the igniter (glow bar) come on whenever the bake function is selected.?

If the glow bar does not come on the safety valve will not open - no bake burner. check the electrical harness first then Try changing the igniter (glow bar first) before changing the safety valve/regulator.

XL44 Gas Range will not light

Kinda sounds like the hot surface igniter is out. It is located under the oven section under the bottom panel. They are relatively easy to replace except you need that oven today I'm sure. Let me know how it turned out.

To replace the hot surface you need to take the bottom panel off and access the assy you need a 1/4 nut runner and remove couple small screws unplug the igniter take it to a parts house and 12 to 20 dollars later you're good as gold. When I say parts house appliance parts.

Sf195lehz5 free standing gas oven,

Check both gas valve solonoids for 216 ohms [blue broiler wire to the orange common and red oven wire to orange common] both must be ok.

Check oven temp sensor for 1080 ohms.

If above are ok then the problem is either the spark module or the control board.

Since the gas valve was not opening and there was not ignitor sound I replaced the spark module for about $90. You have a 50-50 chance of being right.

My range is relitively new and I'm haveing an oven light problem which I traced to the control board so I may replaced this board to for about $200.

Gas Range Oven use without electrical power

It will be necessary to change the top burner orifices when converting to propane. You should be able to light the top burners with a match or lighter, however, the oven will need proper operating voltage.
