Question about Computers & Internet

Can't Connect I recently purchased a Edimax PS-1203, and connected it to my Negear DG834G ADSL router. Now, both lights, on the server itself and the number 4 light on the router (as that is the port it is connected to) light up. However, when i go into the "attached devices" menu on the router, it is bringing up everything but the print server. I installed the driver, etc, but that didn't help. Also, during installation, it brings up a window sayin to pick a print server, but the box is empty. Any advice will help. Thanks My Edimax PS 1206Mfg is doing the same thing. I can't find it on the network.

I recently purchased a Netgear WPN824. The Netgear WPN824 is connected to a Speedstream 5200 modem. Internet connectivity is fine. I have not enabled the wireless capabilities; everything is connected via ethernet. I have enabled DHCP and have three computers up and running. I can't get my HP JetDirect J6057A on the network. No IP address is being assigned. Did a cold reset. IP address reverts back to default 192.0.0.192. Tried to install new firmware but device is not found on network. Ran configuration page from printer. "TCP/IP status is Ready. Default IP Configured Continuing to DHCP." Obviously, checked cables. Lights are on both ends of ethernet connection. The HP JetDirect played well with others with my old router.

Trying to install the Edimax print server 1206UWP. I connect all the cables, do the administration - setup (V. 3.8.42) and then it comes to: Searching Your Print Server. The result box comes up empty.

I tried to set the local area connection IP address to different values (e.g., 192.168.2.10 (supposedly the IP address of the print server is 192.168.2.2). Same result.

I fixed my problem by resetting the print server. You have to hold in the reset button for at least 20 seconds for it to work. I was previously just pressing it without holding.

Hope that this may help someone else.

Ubuntu has his own print server. When you click on System/Administration/Print (not sure, because I use the French version :Impression), it opens a window. Then you select Go to the server (again, something similar to that choice), and you can configure the options for the server.

No Ports available

The default IP in the D-Link router is 192.168.1.x
The default IP in the Edimax is 192.168.2.2

Your 3rd octet (the # after 168) has got to be the same for the two of them to communicate.
So, you can either reIP your router, or connect your PC to the print server and change it. The software for the print server should have a tool for finding the PS by MAC address, then you can go in and reset it to 192.168.1.x
