  • zafar11 Nov 14, 2010

I already tried that but it did not help Thanks

  • zafar11 Nov 15, 2010

this will be last thing I will try .

  • zafar11 Nov 15, 2010

themostat is working fine as i can turn off the refrigrator with it

  • zafar11 Nov 17, 2010

how do I find out if it is low on134a. It was running fine before we move it another floor. Thanks

  • zafar11 Nov 19, 2010

It wad wqorking fine until we move it to another floor so how could it be low on 134 unless there is a big leak and I dont know how to check the leak as all I can see is the compresor outside.

If the compressor is running and there is no cooling then the gas (feron) may have leaked out. The only way out is to get the gas refilled.

Most likely low on freon and oil for the compressor

You will need to replace the thermostat to get your bar fridge to start cooling again. Use a multimeter and check the thermostat for continuity, replace if there is no power going to it.

Also check to see if it is low on refridgerant. If it has a condensor coil, that could be dirty/clogged causing excessive heat

Hi,

Try running your refridgerator out in the opne with nothing around it...

The condenser coils are inside the side and top panels and if you have it in too tight of a spot so that there is no air flow around it, the cooling unit will not work right....

Give the unit some air and it will probably start to cool.....it will take a few hours even then for you to really notice it getting cold... this is not a high power unit...

Okay if that does not work then you probably have a problem in the refrigerant system...if it is running and the compressor is hot then most likely the problem is dirt in the system that has stopped the flow of the refrigerant...

To fix this all the refrigerant will need to be removed and the system vacuumed and cleaned... this may work but may not work...

The only way to tell if that is the case for sure is to put gauges on it and see what the pressures are...this also will take special equipment to fix...

The repairs also could easily be costing more then a new fridge would cost... check it out before trying to repair...

A amana French door fridge no fan water or.icemaker lights come on but no fan turning on or cold

Many Amana model fridges have the freezer fan wired through the bi-metal thermostat that is clipped to the evaporator. Either your compressor has a bad start device and that is why it is not cooling, or the compressor IS running and the unit has lost its refrigerant charge. Running compressor with no cooling = buy a new fridge.
Compressor hot, but not running = start relay replacement to get the compressor going. Start Device 8201786

Bar fridge not cooling

Sounds like you might be low on refrigerant (gas). Unless it is 134a, which you can buy in automotive stores, you are going to need a license to buy refrigerant. The simple way to see if you might need gas is by feeling the larger line going into the compressor (probably insulated). It should be cold if your system is working and charged. If you feel the line leaving your condenser, it should be fairly warm. Be careful as the line leaving the compressor can be very hot and burn you and you may have exposed electrical. If the lines do not feel cold and warm as they should you may be low on gas or you may just have a problem with your compressor or another part of the system. If you're not getting the warm-cold differential, it's likely worth just buying a new unit.

I have kelvinator fridge it doesn't cool in both compartment we replaced the compressor il coold down for only 3dayes then returned back to hot state

is the condenser fan running back there?also did you clean out the condenser coil?usually when the middle strip gets hot the coil is filled with dust or the fan where the compressor is isn't running.the condenser fan keeps the compressor cool and all the heat from the machine escapes out through the condenser coil.check this, also the start device could be bad on the compressor, send model number next time you write so whoever helps you can look up your machine.hope this info helps you out.

My fridge compartment and freezer compartment is warm. i dont know alot about fridges, so please dont be too technical with me. and its a very old model, 106.769830 E92812566

If both compartments are warm, this means that the compressor is either not running or is running and not circulating the refrigerant. We need to know if the compressor is running. Its the black can looking thing behind the refrigerator at the bottom with copper tubes going to it. If it feels cool to the touch it is not running. If it is warm or hot, it is running and not pumping. If its not running it may be a problem with the thermostat, the defrost timer or the compressor itself. If it is running and hot but the fridge isn't cooling, it may have a leak or a bad compressor or relay.

Fridge is not cooling freezer is not freezing

Your compressor is seized and is cycling on intenal overload, you will have to get someone out to get a price at replacing the compressor for your fridge.

Freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling

Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.

DOOR JAM BETWEEN FREEZER AND FRIDGE IS GETTING HOT

This usually means that your condenser fan has stopped. That's the fan outisde (under or in back of) the fridge. It should be running whenever the compressor runs. Heavy accumulation of dust or anything that obstructs airflow could also cause it. But the most likely culprit is the fan.
