Question about Belkin 802.11g Wireless Notebook Network Card [ F5D7010 Wireless ] (109062)

1 Answer

I have a belkin 802.11g network adapter for my laptop, and although it can connect to the network it is with limited or no connectivity. This used to be fixed by clicking the box to allow windows to manage the network connection, but now this doesn't work as the adapter just 'regains control' over it. Any help would be appreciated!

This message generally means that you are attempting to connect to a password (secure) network. You have to reestablish the connection by inputting the password before full connectivity can be achieved.
Let's assume you are using XP. Troubleshooting this problem is described at

Let me know if you need more information. Thanks.

Some network adapters have problems with wireless encryption, try turning it off at the router and connect again. If it works, you wont be able to use that usb adapter with your routers encryption on.

I have an Acer Aspire6930 and a Belkin router. My internet connection will be fine for an hour, but then it craps out and says "local only" or "limited connectivity". However, all the other laptops using...

u mean to say, u r using wireless for internet access right.
Well if u r using XP, and if u r having some trouble in accessing internet, then there might some problem with the components of wireless card. so if u want to fix them, u can fix them with a simple trick.
Go to My Computer's Properties
Go to device manager,
open the tab named NETWORK ADAPTER.
u'll see ur wireless adapter listed. select it & select Uninstall.
Dont worry, just continue reading.
when u click on uninstall, u'll be asked whether u r sure to remove the device from ur computer, meanwhile u'll be given a marking space named UNINSTALL THE DRIVER FOR THIS HARDWARE.
Dont remove the driver, simply uninstall the wireless adapter.
Now its removed.
Now restart ur system, after it starts ur computer shows a ballon named, NEW HARDWARE FOUND and it will automatically install ur wireless adapter,
So ur wireless adapter is fixed by now.

and if u r using Vista, its quite easy there.
go to NETWORK & SHARING CENTRE
go to NETWORK CONNECTIONS u'll find 2 connections.
one will be named as Wireless something.
ENABLE it & click DIAGONISIS
after its completed, select RESET ADAPTER
Its done.

Hope it worked u out.
Thanks..

REPLACED F5D7050 WITH F6D4050, NOW LIMITED CONNECTIVITY

You need to make sure the new belkin adaptor has the same settings as the router you are using. If you set a password on your router then you need to set a password the same on your new adaptor.

I managed to figure it out. I had to clone the MAC address to get the router to connect to the Internet.

I still have another problem though, my laptop still won't connect to the router. I'm using Vista, is this a possible network adapter issue? My laptop is fine at connecting to other wireless networks round my friend's houses/libraries...

Belkin F5D7000 Wireless Network Adapter problem

is the driver and adapter is installed properly?

It seems if your connected and saying limited or no connectivity.

Check this settings to your router:

Turn off the MAC filtering
Disable the wifi-protected setup

Try to change the channel of your router from 1, 6 or 11

Then check if you got the same problem as before?

Note: Try to use the updated driver of the adapter so that you can use the features that is been added to the software.
