Does this error happen with every disc? If not it may just be the disc. If it happens with every disc you could try a laser lens cleaner. Otherwise I would just buy a separate dvd player as they only run about 30$ and up. It would be a much cheaper option then repair. That is why it is always best to keep components separate. So then if one breaks you only have to replace that device.

If this is a combo unit (TV with DVD built in) you need the original remote---Universals almost always are missing key features the original remote had as most companies have someone else make the unit and put their name on it.

Unknown disk error on philips dvp 3020


I would guess that it's an incompatible disk format. If your burning software allows you to pick different types check the Philips manual for a compatible format

if you have some thin lines on the top of the picture probably you have a problem on the power supply for the convergence

some dvd players dont play all dvd. i think the dvd player dont support the format of your dvd movie try a different dvd movie.This msg show up in every dvd you try to play????
