Question about Fontaine Home

Hello I have just installed a Fontaine shower set NF-BELTS-CP and I cannot get the water hot enough. I am sure that there may be some kind of adjustment but I am not sure what it is and before I start experimenting I wanted to ask for help! I get OK pressure but the water temp on max is just too cold yet I konw that there is hot water coming to the valve as the sink can get hot water... What can I do to adjust the water temp to get a hot shower??? Please help!

    Hi Vetteman3002

Unfortunately that's the rub, the unit (and I have 2 of them) did not have any instructions regarding specifically how to adjust the tempeature with this unit? I agree that in most cases the units come with instructions but unfortunately this set(s) did not... Only how to install it but nothing on how to adjust it.... This is where I can really use the help

    Any thouhts?

If anyone has any idea on how to adjust the temperature on the Fountain shower unit that would be really helpful. Unfortunately the instructions I have do not go into that detail and I could not find the answer

Unfortunately I do not think that this is not the case here. I have a Kohler system in the Master shower that gets really hot so I am not sure that it is the water heater. Also the water at the sink is much hotter then the water from the bath so something is out of adjustment.... What I am thinking is that the adjustment at the factory may have been off. That is what I am looking to see how best to adjust? Any recommendations?

that did not work, we tried that before I sent in the request for help and then again..

I have the water heater up and the other shower whith a Kohler set up works fine. So we checked it again. Unfortunately there is something wrong with the set up in the head and that where I need the help. This last answer did not help...

This unit is indeed adjustable.
You'll need an adjustable wrench and philips and small flat screwdriver.
However the temperature water coming out the faucet should be the same as out the showerhead as these two are on the same pipe after the cartridge.
To adjust:
Pry off the cap on the handle. Undo the screw in the handle and remove the handle. Remove the collar below the handle with the tool provided and remove the collar.
Unscrew the backing plate and remove. Remove the plaster guard.
Remove the base nut and its retainer nut to expose the cam.
This cam can be used to adjust hot water temperature. Note its position, remove it and move clockwise of its present position to increase hot water temperature.
If youre not at the correct temp yet :
On both the hot and cold inlet pipes are stop valves that can be adjusted by screwdriver to increase/decrease water flow. Open both fully.(counter clockwise)

Well if all you did is install the hardware then what you need to do is adjust your water heater to the desired temp. the hardware doesn't control water temp.

These can be adjusted by removing the handle and accessing the re-stricter plate behind the handle. All faucets are different. Your instructions that came with the faucet should have the instructions on how to adjust.

We installed a Fontaine shower head and the water flow is very low for the hot water and it is not warm.

Your issue sounds like a control issue and not shower head. Look for shut off valves near the control valve. If all is okay, disassemble and clean the control valve.

Not enough hot water, has to do with a shower valve

Hello, first if any water supply hot or cold is turned off, you will experience trickling as you mention. You must have both cold and hot in order to adjust the temperature on your valve. if you had a plumber intall this unit you should ask him to adjust it. Otherwise here is how:
Rotate the handle counterclockwise to stop and let water run till cold water is purged, check
temperature. Rotate handle to off, remove handle parts (see Disassembly in your manual) and temperature limit stop, rotate clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase maximum hot water temperature, reinstall temperature limit stop and handle (TIP: Do not screw handle in until desired maximum temperature is achieved) Repeat steps until desired maximum
temperature is achieved

This sounds like a proper with your water heater. If you just installed this new shower head. First take it off and make sure that the hot water valve is opening fully if that checks out then go to the water heater and make sure the pipes check out ok and also that the heater is ok. Try putting a water heater blanket on it. Also try getting some pipe cover and cover the hot water line so on really cold days or not you will have warmer water

Installing a Mixer Shower from a Combi Boiler.

hi there, your boiler will perfectly match the mira excel ( a great choice i might add) a 24cdi will give about 9.8 litres a minute flow rate hot water.
The mira excel is suitable for any plumbing set up and there installation instruction are very well laid out & their helpline is fantastic.
The hot water will fluctuate accordingly to the time of year as the cold water temp coming into the property will vary. but the boiler will modulate to compensate. So in brief in the summer you will notice it hotter than you would in the winter, this has nothing to do with the boiler just the incoming temp of the cold water.
