Sound blaster conflict

Wow I have an audigy card and a Olympus and never had that problem before.

Goto soundblaster.com and make sure the audigy drivers are updated. There is an update to the olympus software available on their website as well.

If the volume is up too high on your recorder when it is playing back, it may shut the speakers down as a safety precaution especially if your sound card has a limiter to it.

The voice is distorted

what is a power SD? ... please list your notebook make/model. I suggest updating your sound drivers. if that doesnt work then it might just be a defect in the audio system.. You could also find out what kind of sound card it has and try the manufacture for the sounds cards websites.. here is a link to acers which should have updated sound card drivers... good luck

If you are using xp

Go to control panel

Click on sounds and audio devices

click on voice

See voice playback?

click on volume make sure there is not a check mark in mute under microphone

Do the same for voice recording

and check the volume levels on both

Hope this helps
