If you have dirt on the sensor, it can be cleaned using special products. If you Google the words "how to clean an SLR sensor", you will find sites that explain the procedure with pictures and places where you can order the supplies needed. This is much less expensive than trying to replace the ccd sensor.

Sound like a CCD sensor problem; you will need to visit your local photo technician in order to solve it, CCD sensor need to be replaced.

CCD image sensor itselft; this is a few commun propblem the manufacturers have stated an intention to correct the problem free of charge, regardless of the current warranty status of the individual camera. For specific details on the repair process. Some of the advisories have noted that for cameras outside warranty, any camera problems unrelated to the CCD sensor issue will be treated as regular unwarrantied service, which is logical.

Sir eos 350d modal ka camara hai. photo khichane par blank ata hai

Remove the camera memory card and format it. Then restore the camera settings and insert the memory card. Now try. I hope your problem will solve then. If not then your camera CCD is damaged and you need to replace the CCD for the camera. Thank you.

No image on LCD monitor

Hi,
Please note that your camera must be experiencing these symptoms due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems. Replacement with a new CCD will fix this problem for sure.

My camera is slightly blurd when i take a picture

I would like to know more about the camera and the type of lens you are using.
A few problems could cause this.
I would try a different lens and see if the picture is not blurred.
Dirt or smudges on the lens can cause it.

The ccd could have some minor dust or dirt on the surface. If you clean this, be extremely cautious how you clean clean it and with what. Special kits are available for cleaning the ccd sensors.
Here is one link with some information. Review Rebel XSI
Here is a link from Konica/Minolta to clean the CCD

In all cases cleaning the ccd is a job which has to be carefully undertaken, otherwise the possibility of scratching it is high. Once scratched, you will need a ccd replacement, a costly project for sure.

If the problem is not in the ccd or the lens, then your camera needs repair. Call support at their website for repair information.

Suddently my photos have too much purple and are grainy.

To start remove camera battery for one minute, this will reset settings to factory.

If pictures are all purple and shady , and this is not a setting problem , then it is usually a bad CCD sensor.

On many models (depending on year) CCD sensor repair will be entirely covered by Canon. Give them a call to check it out.

CAMERA IS THREE MONTHS OLD. ON MY LAST OUTING I NOTICED A PERFECT CIRCLE SPOT ONLY IN SHOTS OF THE SKY. THE SPOT IS IN THE IDENTICAL PLACE ON ALL SKY SHOT PHOTOS NO MATTER WHAT FOCAL LENGHT IS USED. THE...

If you have another lens, switch it and take some shots of the sky. If the spot is gone, it probably was the lens that needs cleaning/servicing. However, it's more likely that there's dirt on your CCD. On your camera's menu, select mirror lockup/clean CCD (I can't remember the exact terminology but you get the idea).

After you select that, the mirror will stay up. Remove the lens and you'll see that the CCD is now exposed. Use a blower (don't use your mouth to blow as you will end up with spit in the camera) to clear out any dust/debris on the CCD. Don't touch the CCD.

Turn off the camera and you'll hear the mirror go back down. Re-attach your lens and try some shots.

Your problem is undoubtedly the CCD image sensor. Under normal circumstances it would be cheaper to throw away the camera & buy a new one, but...

As of Oct. 6, 2005, Canon issued a Service Notice pertaining to several different models, including the S1 IS. Here is an excerpt:
" It has been confirmed that the connecting parts of the internal wiring of the CCD used in affected products may become disconnected, especially if the affected products are stored or used in high-temperature and high-humidity environments. If this occurs, the signal is not output from the CCD normally in Shooting Mode, which may cause a distorted image or the absence of an image. This malfunction can be confirmed on the LCD monitor screen during shooting. The same malfunction also appears on the recorded image."
"Canon's Response: Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, the products listed above exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if Canon determines that the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair."

Follow this link to the Canon website with all the info you need to send it back for free:
Service Notice: CCD Image Sensor Advisory

You should get the camera back within 10 days. Mine only took 6 days! Good Luck!
