I have a real internet connection...for now so I'll try to post this while I can.

Here's what works for me, move the rack stops to the left if you haven't already and then the rack itself.

    i.e.

    and

Now you'll need to remove the bumpers at the back of the rack rail...

    i.e.

push down on the bumper as shown

and pull it down and out at the same time...it takes some force as evident by my finger tip ha ha, you can use a small screwdriver...I'm just stubborn.

Now you'll need to slide the rail all the way out as shown, but careful not to let the ball bearings fall into the sump area in the process.

I usually hold the broken piece in place while removing the rail...

...( they come in a kit at "repairclinic.com" under number 1394379 like shown here )

The trick now is to install the balls into the holders first

and the holders into the stationary part of the rail on the inside wall...

The inside wall rail will keep the holders in place as you slide the inside rail into place...this will usually require holding the holder with one hand while pushing the sliding rail back into place...

Once this is done, re-install the back rail bumpers followed by the rack and then finally the front rack stoppers and that should do it.

Hope that explain it for you or gives you an idea of how it needs to be done.

Thanks for visiting "fixya" today for your repair help. Let me know if you require further assistance.

    Good luck.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

    P.S.

I should also mention you as I alluded to, be sure none of the old 8 ball bearings didn't fall down into either the drain pump or circulation/wash pump. This is something I've seen far too often on Asko dishwashers with the end result being a broken impeller in either pump...or both, yikes ! I use a telescopic magnet to fish around as it will be the only object made of metal...unless something else has fallen in the sump well area, it's good to check.

    Again, good luck :)

How do I fix drivers window that wont go up or down on a 2000 dodge durango

This is a common problem in these model years of Chrysler vehicles, Be patient and you can easily DIY. The mechanism consists of a motor and two cable/two guide rail assembly. The guide rails hold the window onto the cable with a clip on each rail. It is better to buy the whole assembly new rather than just replacing a bad motor or just the guide rail/cable assembly. I have been burned just replacing one or the other only to learn when popping open the cable spool that 1) cable is shredded or 2) it ain't easy winding the cable back up as tight as the mfr had it and the window won't roll up with the same speed as the other one. You will need a Torx set... a 25 or 30 size if I remember will remove the guide rail bolts. Some models have the motors riveting on with soft aluminum rivets. Just drill them out... like butter. Others have torx bolts on them with the nuts encapsulated inside a grommet. Put your hand behind and inside the door panel to hold them with your hand when removing the torx bolts. Their are two holes on the inside of the door panel... one guide rail is extracted through one of them, and the other one through it's own hole. Push the window up first, have an assistance hold it halfway up for you so you can see and pull the guide rail release clips with needle-nose pliers. Push the window up all the way and tape it using a good tape around the door sill at the top. Then you can start removing/replacing the motor and guide rails. When your done, plug the wiring harness back in and raise the guide rail half way up using the motor and then unplug the harness again. Have your trusty assistant lower the window down gently, insuring it's inside the groove and stopped by the guide rail clip assembly. Insert the clips back in and test your work before re-assembling your door panel. Crutchfield makes new door panel liner, if yours is crispy. A heat gun sometimes help remove them more intact. Good luck!

Dvd player makes dvd's freeze

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, the stepper rail motor that has attached worm gear cracks or flattens out causing the laser pickup to jam and the picture to freeze, in order to fix this the whole assembly most be replaced, but this would not be cost effective to do so, far cheaper to replace player.

With no disk loaded and the dvd player turned on, the dynex blue screen turns on then the laser jams into one position and there is loud static sound.

Unfortunately the stepper rail linkage is defective that moves the laser pickup assembly, the only solution is replace the whole laser pickup assembly which is not cost effective, cheaper to buy a new portable dvd player.

How do I refit chain

Start by removing the side cover held with one or two nuts ( make sure the chainbrake if fitted is de activated by pulling the hand guard fully back toward the rear of the saw until there is an audible click ) if the chain has de railed you need to check for damage to the drive links, file away any burs, or fit a new chain, screw the chain adjuster fully back, assemble the guide bar onto the bar bolts and push fully back toward the rear of the saw, loop the chain over the sprocket and into the guide bar rails with the cutter teeth on top of the bar facing away from the saw if the bar adjuster pawl is in the crankcase make sure it fits into the hole in the guide bar, assemble the side cover, if the adjuster pawl is in the cover make sure this lines up with the hole in the guide bar ( adjust the pawl screw if required ), assemble the bars nuts finger tight, now adjust the pawl screw so as the chain sits snuggley around the guide bar, pull the chain around the bar with a gloved hand to make sure it is sitting into the bar and sprocket correctly, lift the nose of the guide bar and tighten the bar nuts.

Player will not work. keep getting the disc will not work message, for all discs.

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more.

I have an old Sharp CD-C811W mini hi fi system which I took apart to try to clean the lazer head. Since putting it back together the CD's keep skipping - what did I do wrong - help please

You've probably done nothing wrong: presumably there were symptoms which initially prompted you to open the unit up to attend to the head. It's possible that you've left a smear on the laser lens or some grot on the head guide rails, but CD/DVD lasers do not last forever and as your unit is an old (and cheaply built) unit the laser head unit has probably worn out.

If you can find out the exact CD drive assembly fitted to your mini hi-fi then if you're lucky you may find a replacement head assembly (Earth yourself, unclip the guide rails, lift/slide the ribbon cable clamps and remove the assembly, reassemble in reverse with an imperceptible smear of HMP grease on the guide rails).

Unfortunately you're highly unlikely to find an original or even a compatible laser head assembly simply due to the extremely short production cycles of these items due to constant improvements in design. Good, used, CD mini hi-fi's are ten a penny so if you can't get the part for less than £15 then bin it and replace the entire CD system.

If you need it a service manual for your model is at the address below. Please return the favour by rating my answer; I only regret that I could not give you a more positive outcome.

Disc error

HI. if this error is coming up on every disc you insert, this will be a sign of a serious malfunction that is localized in the optical lens assembly. It could eb that the tracking rail motor is damaged or, the entire assembly is not functioning. replacing this failed assembly will fix this issue.

A part has fallen out.

The component that fell out is called a tape guide. The guide assembly fits into the guide rail on the supply side (left side) of the drum. You will notice another guide to the right, this is the take up guide assy, it sits in the guide rail assembly as well. There will be a silver shaft sticking up from the guide rail where the tape guide should be seated, with gentle pressure, the guide should snap back on and the unit should operate correctly. Please do not touch the drum surface as this may damage the video head assembly. Hope this helps you, good luck. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org
