Our housekeeper has twice pulled the cord out past the yellow marker and we've had it repaired both times at a cost of $75 ea. The housekeeper is now gone but I would like to try and fix the problem myself but cannot find disasembly instructions. Looking for some assistance as I really don't feel like spending another $75 if I can take care of it. Thoughts ?

If you can't get it to work after trying for a bit, taking it into the Aerus Electrolux franchise nearest you is your best bet. If there is nothing broken you will only be charged a labour fee. Good luck to you.

The whole machine has to come apart. If you aren't familiar with doing this, you just might make things worse for yourself. If you do try it yourself, go slow. Be careful who you get your answers from. I have heard some suggestions online that make me cringe for the person asking. If you take it to your local Aerus franchise you might want to ask them to put the yellow tape a little further up the cord to let you know sooner that you are nearing the end.

Try this. Set vacuum on it's back end. Gently pull out cord and release. It may take a few tries, but should work
Repair/service manuals are only available to authorized service tech at authorized Aerus Electrolux stores. These are in the form of software available only from AE to authorized stores. The explanation process would be quite lengthy, and would itself be worth more than $75.
Taking the vacuum and cordwinder apart is somewhat tricky and can result in damage to it. Reassembling correctly can also be tricky.

Hoover vacuum UH72625v wiring upright Windtunnel

Look inside the wire crimps with the white and yellow wires for wire strands alongside the other wires (broken off of the power cord). If you see some, that's the neutral connection.

If you don't see any stray strands in either connector, you'll have to trace the wiring. First, check how many connections there are on the power switch. If there are only two (one should be connected to the black wire going to the power cord), the answer is not there, and you'll have to identify the wire that goes directly to the motor and the lamp socket (including any wires connected together).

If there are four terminals on the power switch, with black wires going to one pair of terminals and white or yellow wires going to the other pair, identify which black wire goes to the power cord connection. The white wire next to it goes to the connection you want.

How did you manage to pull the power cord out of the connectors? There's supposed to be some kind of clamp, knot, or other restraining means where the power cord goes into the vacuum cleaner to prevent this potentially dangerous situation. If that is broken or missing, get it repaired before using the vacuum cleaner.

Bissell Hard Floor 1161 Bagless Canister Vacuum cord won't retract

You have to find a way to turn the drum the cord rolls up onto. Just move it par enough o allow it to retract. Hopefully you will hit that point before the spring lets go.

Is there any way to get my machine fixed or replaced if the store doesnt carry machines anymore?

Sears should have parts and repairs available for you. Contact them on the phone or online. Next time get a good machine. It is highly unlikely the motor went out. More than likely, the cord was pulled loose from the electrical connectors. Any good Sewing machine repair shop can taake a look at it. Find them in the yellow pages. Make sure it is a reputable company.

Repair retractable cord

Depending on which model of Electrolux you have and how far out you have pulled out the cord (most of the Electrolux canisters have a yellow tape around the machine end of the cord to alert you not to pull it out any further), you might have to take it apart to fix it. However, the first thing that I would try would be to stand it on the end (the hose end at the top), and pull short jerks on the cord to see if it will correct itself and retract. If that does not fix it, I would stick a screwdriver in the hole where the cord comes out of the machine and attempt to wind the cord reel back up which will slowly wind the cord back up on the cordwinder. This usually cause the cord to wind back up. If that does not work, then the only option is to take the machine apart to fix it.

My Braun Hand held blender has stopped working.where in London area can it be repaired?

Before running for an expensive repair!
Since it is a hand held device, it's cord gets a lot of twisting & pulling misuse!
Sit down, put on your glasses & examine the cord carefully, expecially around the places it bends sharply! If you do not see a bad spot, swith it on & gently move the cord around & push it inwards like making ot shorter. If it gives even one jump, you only need a new cord which should cost 15 minutes labour for any handyman. ... 90& of their problems lies here!

Cord rewind hoover s3765

Remove the 5 Phillips-head screws carefully without stripping the heads. There are 2 at the front bottom, 2 at the top back (above the wheels), and 1 at the back beneath the dustbin. After the screws are loosened/removed, you can remove the top cover of the vacuum (be careful with the attached wiring harness). Then remove the black plastic cover over the cord rewind wheel, and you can easily remove the wheel. Pull the cord out a bit to give yourself some slack. You should be able to free the jammed cord and then reassemble the vac.

Have a miele S546 vac. and it won't turn on. Is there a fuse? Can the on/off switch burn out? Thanks.

If you vacuum wont turn on it is most likely the cord winder. This is a pretty big repair, you wouldn't want to attempt it yourself. Most shops should be able to repair the cord winder for about $50-75. If you need a new cord winder expect to pay about $150.

Miele s314 red star-motor stopped working-on/off switch broken?

Most likely the problem is with the cord winder. This is the most common problem with Mieles. It is actually the most common problem with any vacuum with a cord winder. A Miele repair center should not change you to look at the vacuum and tell you what is wrong with it. The Red Star was a great model and if the powerhead is still in goood condition I would get the vacuum repaired. If it is the cordwinder they can usually be repaired and it should cost about $75.00. If you need a new cord winder this will cost about $150.00. The top piece can be pryed off, however if it feels like it is switching than it is not jammed.

Miele S514 Solaris Electro - won't turn on

I don't have the exact same model as you guys, but maybe my situation is similar to yours. My Miele Silver moon model won't turn on one day. I took it to a Miele authorized repair shop ( they all offer free estimate on finding the problem first, then they will tell you what the repair cost will be). They said my vacuum cord reel shim was damaged. The damage was caused by over stretching the cord while I vacuumed. According to them the shim is kind of like a clip that holds the cord inside the vacuum. When the shim is damaged, the cords are pulled apart and electricity can no longer pass through. That would expalin why it won't turn on. The repair cost was not too bad, it costed forty-six dollars. I hope this helps.
