Did you put your sensor bar on the floor? We had this problem, too, then realized the Wii sensor bar made it work when it was on the floor in front of it.

Also stand EXACTLY where the show you to stand about 3-4 feet away. That worked for me after 30 minutes of trying to calibrate. No need to move a lot of furniture. Just make sure there is 3-4 feet clearing around the board and stand where they show you to stand.

We tried this and it doesn't seem to work for us. We synced it with the wii....the board says it's controller number one, however, the wii is telling us that it has lost connection with the controller. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I got it, I got it. After 3 days of trying. I had old batteries in, put my sensor bar and wii on the floor, put the board on a stool, and went outside and played with the kids in the snow. I let it run and run. I came in and it worked. I don't know how long, but it ran for an hour. I have a plasma tv, so I turned the tv off so there was no burn in. I also turned off my directv box. Not sure if that had anything to do with it, but it worked. My 7 year old says best game ever. I guess it was worth the pain. We almost returned it this morning too.

I concur with the above, however, I skipped the playing in the snow with the kids part. I shipped the child off to a friends house so as not to subject them to Wii Rage (it's a new syndrome similar to Road Rage, except the only fatalities are electronic devices). In addition to the old batteries, I turned the sensor bar sensitivity level to 2, and placed in about 1 foot off the floor, with the board on the floor. Also, make sure to change your sensor bar location to "below tv" when you move it.

after hours of trying everything to get the board to calibrate, old batteries allowed it to work on the first try.

I had the same problem and couldn't calibrate it for two days. I've tried everything: changed batteries, removed all the stuff, put the board on a stool and even turned off the lights. Unfortuneatly it didn't help. But then my friend told me that if you want to calibrate it very easily, you just need to put the board, wii bar sensor and the wii on the ground. So I did that and it worked from the first time. And acctually I didn't need to make sure it's four feet of clearance, because in mu room it was only 3 feet.

Do you have the "exclusive" 'birdhouse' board bundle sold by GAME? I bought my son one for XMAS and we could get it to sync/connect with the Wii console, but gave up after 3 days of getting nowhere with calibrating the thing. Exchanged at GAME for another board which was even worse, couldn't even get it to sync with Wii, let alone get as far as trying to calibrate it. Eventually gave up, and got a refund from GAME, went next door to HMV, got the standard board bundle (15 quid cheaper), and hey presto, worked first time, absolutely no problems at all.

What worked for me after returning 4 times was to set the sensor settings in the wii settings to below the tv but put the sensor above the tv with 2 old and 2 new batteries

Try turning your WII so that the dongle that comes with the game faces the skateboard. I had that same problem and this solved it.

Tony Hawk Shred board will not calibrate. Help!

I had the same problem. I turned the WII so the dongle/sensor that comes with the game is facing the skateboard with a clear line of sight between the dongle/sensor and skateboard. Now it's able to calibrate. Hope this works for you.

Cannot calibrate Tony Hawk Shred for Wii

I had the same problem. I solved it and got the board to calibrate immediately when I replaced the brand new batteries with used batteries. Brand new batteries apparently make the lasers very sensitive. You have less sensitive sensors with the used batteries. I just took some AA's out of my cable remotes. The game is awesome once you get it calibrated. I felt your pain for an hour or so.

My tony hawk SHRED board controller will not calibrate.. any suggestions?

I have been trying since Dec. 23, 2010 to calibrate this board; this is my son's... got it for him for his 8th birthday........... finally! tonight! i GOT it, after trying the batteries, moved furniture and got out the measuring tape, the repositioning of the wii, dongle, and sensor bar, directv box off, lights off, and left for hrs... nothing worked UNTIL i did all of the above AND placed a light colored sheet under the board, completely laid out, covering the dark maroon carpeting AND it worked the FIRST TIME.... after numerous attempts in the past 15 days. my son is gonna be THRILLED when he wakes up tomorrow.....

Board will not calibrate to tony hawk shred for the wii

Don't use brand new batteries. Using older batteries makes the sensors less "sensitive". You will have to recalibrate every time you change batteries but at least you can use your product this way.
