Question about Toshiba 50HM66 52" Television

1 Answer

Toshiba DLP 50HM66

After the television has been on for a while it will turn itself off and on, off and on. I can unplug it from the AC and it will work properly for a while, sometimes 10 minutes.......sometimes 2 hours. When it is on, the blue led light is on, when it is off the yellow led light is blinking (standby mode). I have replaced the lamp and the PC Board to no avail. Any ideas???

Check to see if you have your HDMI control turned on. If it is, turn it off. If it is not, then you have a main board problem.

I have had the same problem and after several trips to the shop I realised it was caused by humidity. The shop was air conditioned so the problem never happens there. A dehumidifier or air conditioner "solved" the problem.

The lamp may need replacing. I've been finding that with all these DLP TVs the lamps last on average about 2 years tops.

the Toshiba web site has a place under support about that problem. It's the light engine and if you fill out the serial # and model # the will qualify you for a new one.
