Question about Acer AL1916W 19" LCD Monitor
1 . OK so your monitor will not turn on but your computer seems to be running just fine, this is something we have all come across at least once. So first thing you check is to make sure that the power cable behind the monitor is inserted all the way, as in its not loose. If you have checked and it is connected and your sure that power is running to it, then we move on to the next step.
2 . If your monitor shows a light whether green or any other color then power is going to your monitor, so then we grab a laptop or another desktop if there is one available, and try to connect the monitor to the desktop if it does the same thing on the other desktop or laptop, then we can assume it is your monitor.
3 . If however on the other desktop you do see an image, then it means your video card from the original desktop computer is not working and you need to replace it.
4 . If you don't have a laptop or another desktop computer available, then you can check by turning on your computer and if you see that the monitor sounds like its turning on and a green light turns on then turns orange, its more than likely your video card, if it just stays orange and never turns green, or makes a sound of it turning on, then its your monitor.
Hope this has been helpful in some way.
