Question about Smeg SE399X/5 Stainless Steel Electric Single Oven
Over the last few days the oven has tripped the kitchen electrics off ( and itself.) just happened again tonight and this time quite a loud 'POP' from behind the oven.
No electric power to the oven now, something seems to have blown -
Any idea what might have happened?
Mine has the same problem. Two likely culprits are the engine for the hot air propeller thing and the spiral that generates the heat. I first disconnected the heat thing and switched the power back on.. tripped the power. Then I reconnected and disconnected the propeller. Power on.. no tripped fuses. Problem found.

The pop would usually mean a busted fuse. Turn off the oven, disconnect completely from the power supply and then take it apart. See if you can find any toasted fuse or roasted wires. Also the reason for tripping the mains off is due to the fact that the oven is draining more power than it should. I would recommend a thorough inspection of the oven by an electrician..
