Question about Pentax Optio M50 Digital Camera
This is a work around since I didn`t want to touch the electrics or ruin the camera which works exceptionally well. The camera still works fine but the memory card had to be held in tightly to the contacts by pressing on the access door. I tried adding a spacer but this affected the door closing. So I extended the length of the memory card by super gluing the surface of a thick broccoli elastic (about 2 mm thick and 1/4" wide) and carefully extending the end of the memory card. Note I applied the glue to the elastic and not the memory card, to prevent capillary action drawing the superglue into the card. After it dried, I trimmed around the card with scissors and tried it out. The final test was to remove the card from the camera and insert it into my laptop to ensure that the pics were captured on the card. Worked like a charm and the cards are cheap, with no adjustments to the camera itself.
