I would suspect the problem is in the convergence circuit---only one simple way to know---get at and un-solder all 18 pins on both the STK chips it uses.

Once they are free try to turn set on--if it comes on one of the chips is bad and both will have to be replaced.

If you can solder, yes this is not a hrd fix my friend. Inside this set, standing up, will be two square black IC's up against a large metal piece called a heat sink. These two convergence amp IC's need to be replaced. They are called STK-392-040. You can get the parts from here: http://www.partstore.com/PartSearch.aspx?PartNumber=STK-392-040&x=12&y=13 Do not forget though to get heatsink compound to install on the backs of the new IC's before you replace them. If you do not have the skill to solder and unsolder, see if a friend can assist you who does, like I said you can buy everything you need for less the 100 bucks. one more bit of advice. You do not want to order any cheap 10.00 replacemnet IC's as they are generic and do not meat the manufacturers specs. Buy only good quility parts or you will be in the same boat in a few months. Good Luck

Want better stk options. pl help!

Use 392-150 the can handle higher current, if not use 392-120. Make sure you use heatsink compound and don't get the "cheap" ics- you get what you pay for.

Color will not match up

if your talking about the sets convergence does not line up and it looks like a 3-D picture than The best advice I can tell you at this point is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the complete convergence kit for your model of TV set, no need to search and order multiple parts from different sources and pay multiple shipping fees! Go to http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?partner=larry
The kit comes with original Sanyo STK IC'S , not those cheap aftermarket or china made IC'S full pictorial directions, the thermal paste, resistors, the correct Pico fuses, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem with the repair. They ship out 2 to 3 day Priority mail, the next day in most cases GOOD LUCK!!!

Mitsubishi vs5043 convergence

Your chassis is a VZ3 that chassis should use two STK 391-020 ICs Its an easy repair Mitsubishi usually will not blow resistors when the ICs go out. You can get the replacement ICs at the following link and they provide free step by step instructions with pictures so if you have even basic soldering skills this isa job you can do in about 30 minutes . Heres the link.

RED CONVERGENCE STILL OFF

Next step should be to check the fuse-resistors and low values resistors for open conditions as well the solder joints on them.
These parts are located near the STK ICs.
Also if you can measure the voltage that power up the STK's. If you do not have the schematic diagram, check the ICs data sheet to know where the voltage is getting to the ICs.
You may have to do the convergence adjustment manually after you replaced those parts.
Good Luck.

A set beeping doesnt have to mean your CRTs are dead. Its more than likely something in your power supply. Do you have any diagnosis or soldering skills?

40H80 Problem TV will not switch to non antenna inputs

Sounds like you have a bad tuner. It is not uncommon for solder joints to deteriorate over a period of time and loose continuity. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can try to fix it yourself but I really recommend leaving it to a professional.
