Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL52XBR2 Television

Open Question

My sony seems to take a long time to warm up . The tv seems to slowly become brighter and clearer from right tot left. Lately it takes at least a half hour or more to become clear and visible. It seems to be getting worse and im afraid to shut it off. Help please. Oh by the way the room is a little cold where the tv is . Around 50 degrees.

SOURCE: Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV generating heat.

First, you will have to define what you mean by "hot to touch" ie.:
can you or can you not hold your hand on it for a few moments.

Picture beginning to fail

There are some components it the vertical deflection amplifier area that are becoming thermo sensitive with age. It is also possible that there will be parts going off value in the power supply and other areas.

These problems are typical in these sets when they are aged. The cost of the repair may not be worth the investment.

You should take the set in to a service center for an estimate.

Did you accidentally turn on SVM? Make sure it's off. And make sure you haven't switched to a different picture mode by mistake.
