My tv went black and now i can't turn off the DVD player and i can't open it.
Problem for Toshiba SD-4000
Toshiba dvd player tray is stuck.
Cannot open tray on DVD player. I put in the code that the book called for to unlock they tray but still nothing. I also took cover off the see if any connections were unplugged but all looked good. Power is coming on but when you push the open door button it says loading and then says no. Have any suggestions or should I just toss it?

- yes, I'm having the same problem with Toshiba SD-4000. I put in a CD (store-bought). It would not load. "Bad" showed on the front of the DVD player (it's a good disc). I pushed "stop" on the remote, and it showed "disc not ready" on the TV monitor.I pressed "open" on the remote, but the tray only opened about 1/2 inch. So I pressed "close", and unplugged the player overnight. Today, tried it again. I followed the directions in the manual for "tray lock and unlock", which is to press the "setup" button, and then punch in the #'s 2005 on the remote. But on the TV screen it said "can't open menu".
