It sounds like you may have a faulty battery. I would return the mp3 player for a new one.

Just bought this mp3 player and it will not turn on unless its plugged into the computer/charger.. No music and never been used till I opened it. Please Help!!!

The new player needs to be charged overnight for the player will work on the battery. You may need to do this a few times after the battery runs down.

My fuse wont charge at all. i bought a new charger and still get no charge

Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable that came with your player.

Computer in Hibernation mode
Make sure the computer isn't entering hibernation or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be ON in order to charge your player.

USB Port 2.0
Make sure the player is connected to a USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).

USB Port location
Try plugging into different USB ports (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); occasionally the front USB ports have limited power to charge up the device.

Battery
Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.

Latest firmware
Depending on what Sansa player you have, make sure it's up to date with the latest Firmware.

AC charger (optional)
AC chargers (sold separately) have a 500-1000 milliamp max output, which provides much better charging ability than a USB port. These accessories are available at SanDisk web site.

My player turned off by itself and wont cut on it was fully charged

if for some reason your player goes unstable and resetting and erasing content doesn't resolve the issue, Sandisk has a Recovery Tool that should put it back to like new factory settings

2 things to check before doing this to your player:

First, charge the Sansa Connect for at least 20 minutes using the AC charger to ensure this is not a battery depletion problem.
Second, hold the power button for 8-10 seconds to ensure the device is turned OFF.

After this, you can put the player into Recovery Mode and use the Recovery Tool.

Download the tool and instructions here. http://mp3support.sandisk.com/tools/connect-recovery-instructions.pdf http://mp3support.sandisk.com/tools/DeviceRecoverySetup-no-wifi.exe copy the address into a new window.

Call Sansa and order the proprietary chargers for this device, unless you want to ruin your player.

Battery wont charge with an AC adaptor

Dear Verona,

Sandisk is a brand that is best used with its own. There are two degrees of separation here. 1) It is a cell phone charger
2) The charger is not in its family.

With both things working against the machine, it is not a surprise it will not fully charge.
