I'm starting with the assumption that you have tried different sources of signal and different cables, with the same result.
Simple test: try to bring the menu on the screen. If you can then the AV inputs aren't operational, replacing the board that carries them will cost around $150 with labor. If nothing appears on the screen then the image processor is inoperative and the entire mainboard will have to be replaced. This would cost over $350 and it's simply not worth it - for a little more money you can buy a brand new one.

I am betting that the ribbon cable to your color wheel has become loose. Here is a detailed slide show of a similar model so note where the cables are and check each one.

Optoma 65hd display menu empty

Which input are you using? Some models will disable certain controls when using the HDMI or DVI inputs. Just to troubleshoot, try switching to a different input (composite video, s-video, or component) and see if the controls re-appear.

Optoma HD 70 turns on with lamp and temo soiled lights

Asher fadida and alll,

The issue:
solid red error light?
HD70 "die's" after few min with strage noise?
flickers different colors before complete self shutdown?

well try this....

Before replacing your bulb, fan or any other component try first cleaning your optoma realy good!! HD70 doesnt comes with any kind of filter so you can imagine the amound of dust can be.
The most importent thing is to blow away any dust from your color wheel + the sensor attached to it .

for farther troubleshoting clean your fan's.
there are 2 fan's insinde the HD70.

probably the most problems will be solved by cleening the color wheel!!
if the problem is not solved ,chack the lemp and the fans if they work properlly.

For fan replacing:

Optoma hd65 projector new bulb wont turn on...cant reset timer!

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.

High temp light on when powering up

Remove the screws and check out the fan's working state.
EP759 have one big 92mm fan for the lamp, and three small, near 40mm, fan's for the optics.

Power of the bulb is very high, so just 1 broken fan can make that situation.

Optoma 719, can't get lamp and fan to turn on.

There is a stuffed 10v 3300uf capacitor on the power board. You need to replace it.
Bellow you can check in the picture where the capacitor is located.

Notice that in this picture I have already took the bad capacitor out and replaced with two small cords to reach the bottom and test the new capacitor.
To reach this place is not fast, several layers of plastic and metal must be removed, but is not a hard task to take the capacitor out and replace it for another.
It works just great! Now it is back on track with awesome image.

Optoma EP716 turns on but no picture displays

Don't ever just unplug the power cord while it is on. The bulb needs to cool down with the fan still on.
Did you ever connect a source?
