Hi there Carole, VacuumGuru here.
I have made a video on how to access the brush roller and clutch for a dyson DC07 vacuum cleaner. It will be a really good place to start so you can see how it comes apart. If you have more queries after watching the video I am more than happy to help.
If you need to buy parts for your dyson vacuum cleaner try vacuumspot or nelsonvacuums (both online).
Hope this helps :)
Please take the time to leave a testimonial if you find this info useful.

How to remove clutch on dyson dc07

This service is hard to explain. Try googling it so you watch a video of how it is done. You can purchase belts and rebuild the clutch with the new belts or you can purchase a new clutch with belts already installed

Brush won't turn on dyson dc07

There was a belt that was to be attached to the motor shaft under the belt cover, be sure that it didn't pop off. the recommended fix is to replace the clutch, not the belts in the clutch. if you only replaced the belts it could still be a bad clutch.

If you need any help feel free to contact me.

Dyson DC14 brushes do not turn. Removed all hair and debris.

DC14s have two drivebelts that turn the brush bar - one connects the output of the motor to the clutch, the other connects the clutch to the brush bar.
You can check the latter simply by removing the sole plate and looking. Unfortunately the other belt is hidden under a plastic cover, so you cant see if it is okay or not without some dismantling. This cover is not easy to remove and requires a Torx driver to under the securing screws.
If, after removing the cover, the other belt is okay, then you have a faulty clutch. New clutches are available on eBay reasonably cheaply, but again good tools and DIY skills are required.
Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com which has some excellent info on dismantling and repairing a DC07 (the DC14 is very similar to the DC07), but unless you have access to such tools, and feel confident to tackle it, it's probably time to call Dyson or a Vacuum repairer

Have a Dyson DC07 vacuum. The beater bar won't turn. Belt is good.

Where is the reset switch for the beater bar on a dyson?

There is no reset switch as such on a DC07.
If the beater bar isnt rotating (but the machine has suction when switched on) then you either have a broken belt or a faulty clutch.
DC07s have two belts - one connects the output of the motor to the clutch, the other connects the clutch to the brush bar.
The belt from the clutch to the brush bar is easily checked but unfortuenately the other belt is hidden under a plastic cover, so you cant see if it is okay or not without some dismantling. This cover is not easy to remove and requires a Torx driver to under the securing screws.
If, after removing the cover, the other belt is okay, then you have a faulty clutch. New clutches are available on eBay reasonably cheaply, but again good tools and DIY skills are required.

Hand held attachment works, floor vacuum works...carpet vacuum does NOT work.

That means that you need to replace the belt. Here is the belt you need and the manual which has instructions:

Dyson upright vacuum cleaner makes horrendous noise

It might be a simple as changing the clutch belt and the drive belt and cleaning out the brush roll. You can get replacement belts here:

Brushbar not rotating but vacuum has suction - belt not broke

At the point where the shroud is around the drive belt of the motor there is a screw that has to be remeoved. It is accessible through a hole in the housing that is inset about 3 1/2 inches. Once this is removed along with the 2 screws at the base of the clutch housing, the shroud can be removed. Interestingly enough, though, I cannot figure out how to replace the brush belt even though I feel the clutch is the broken piece. Anyway, a new clutch with belts runs about 35-60 USD.
