Question about Hitachi UltraVision CineForm 55VG825 55" HDTV
Actual if it's the one above it's not old at all, the technologies inside it are completely up to date. The Auto Link is designed to check all inputs and select the active one - you don't need it. To cancel its operation all you need to do is to manually select the source by pressing the Inputs button and then selecting the correct one.
First of all you must connect the Cox box to the tv using the 3 headed RCA cable (with Yellow, Red and White heads), not the antenna jack or the HDMI - this will disable all HDMI protocols and allow you to view the channel at a very similar quality. If even with the RCA cable you get the same problem then it's hardware, not software - most likely the control processor has difficulty detecting the presence of the signal - and for that the tv must be tested professionally.
