Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

3 Answers

Had for years a MAC PC configuration with a older IMAC with system 8.6 and a seriel driver configuration from infowave that allowed me to print carbonless checks for my small business from that MAC through the USB port to a Panasonic KX-P1191. Well, computer died...moved hard drive contents to G4 with system 9.2 and re-installed the infowave software called PowerPrint. In the chooser, when I select the recommended Epson FX driver, I get a Type 1 error immediately. Need to be able to print checks my business and infowave is defunct.

I've worked beyond the type 1 problem. That had to do with the version of chooser level driver in the system. Now, the problem is that the visible device to select from the computer doesn't show up under the printer selection area when I select the correct device driver.

Do have the original CD from INFOWAVE, but there's been an online upgrade and the company is now defunct. I'm thinking of going back to an IMAC with system level 8.6 as I still have that hard drive and a cobbled together IMAC in inventory....

Is the printer set-up in Epson FX emulation mode? Have you tried an IBM proprinter driver as the Panasonics emulated the IBM out of the box I believe.

Dell support does list Mac OS drivers. Go to the URL below and select your Operating System. There should be 2 print drivers for MAC.

Same problem...printer worked fine on my PC, not on iMac

One of the simplest posted solutions worked like a charm for me...Going to System Preferences, Printer and Fax while holding CTRL key let me reset (delete) all the printers. Then I turned on the Epson cx8400 and the system found the right driver on the Internet. Problem solved, and so easy! I am a brand new Mac user with a billion years of PC behind me, so the whole Mac interface/way of doing things still feels pretty strange! So having a simple and effective fix for this problem is one less thing to deal with! Thanks!

I purchased an iMac and want to run my Dell 966 print

Well, Dell doesn't list a Mac driver for that printer on their website, so I don't believe it's Mac compatible

Dell 1600n to be used on an imac

Hello! Unfortunately, Dell printers mainly supply Windows drivers on their website. To print to this printer, your new iMac will probably pull a generic driver to use with the printer. It should still work no problem, as you're saying, however you won't be able to use the software that's available on the PC. The downloads available for your Dell printer are here:
Dell 1600n Printer Downloads

You can tell by clicking that link and looking under Operating System that only Windows operating systems are available, as well as the software shown below, which is only made for Windows based systems. As for the PaperPort software, that program is made by a company called Nuance. When you purchased your printer, you most likely received a trial or full OEM version from Dell along with your new printer as a software bundle deal. From what I can see, the software is only Windows based. Sorry!

Below is the link to a free viewer that can still read your PaperPort files:

Mfc-210c will not print

do you run mac or win as a pc system?

for pc: delete all drivers by help of the agressive remover tool (see: www.brother.com choose your country, your mfc and download the drivers needed).

Take mfc from power outlet and disconnect from usb port. Run the above mentioned procedures and reinstall the drivers again. When asked, replug mfc to power again.
Connect the usb cable directly to pc!!!!!!

If you run mac I cant give you an adivece yet, because I m not common to mac os yet (end of year I will know better cause will get an imac then, sorry!)
