I have windows XP on my Fujitsu Lifebook A 3040

hi...which XP service pack are you using? if im not mistaken, MS is still supporting SP3 version of XP, however, if you really want to upgrade your OS to win7 for you to be sure that is supported by MS. You will need a win7 installer disc. the most common problem when installing a new clean OS on fujitsu's brand is the hardware drivers.
But most Techie, has always some solution for that, suggest take to shop for proper installation of OS. (If you can't).

thanks

if you still have the installation disc for the printer use it when adding a printer to the win 7 os
or go to hp download site and download the drivers for the printer
or may be go to the printer properties tab , click on compatibility and tick the box and high light win7 os and apply

MY LAPTOP OS WINDOWS 7 GEINUIE , MOTHER BOARD CHANGED AND OS NOT IASTALL AND INSTALLING ERROR

If you are using the installation disc that came
with your laptop, it will only install Windows on the same motherboard (or exact same model). The reason, Microsoft 'sells' the Operating System to the manufacturer for use only on that model machine.
The installation looks for a motherboard that
has a special 'tatoo' that Windows disc looks
for. If it doesn't find it, it won't install.

the first thing to check is spark and fuel, remove a sparkplug boot and spin engine see if it sparks and then check for fuel preasure,if theres no fuel it may be a bad fuelpump, if theres no spark then that may be a bad control module in the distributor.

Os installation

You install OS on a computer by inserting the disk and restarting. Not by fooling around with a sweetheart called Mother Board. In case you need us again, in order that we can walk you through the repair of your computer we will require the following information: (1) Name of Manufacturer and Trade Name of the Computer; (2) Model Name and Number; (3) Mother Board Identification number. If you can't find it we can help you!; (4) A detailed accurate description of what happened. The reason for making changes. Time of the good old days when it worked, time during failure and after failure. Repairing decisions and reasons.

Installed a new processor and now it wont work

Is that an upgraded processor? If it is, then somehow, it could be its configuration problem with the older processor on software side. Your previous installation of OS remember its past processor and reporting error.

You can try fresh installation. Just for the input.
