Web site designers create Web pages for display on a monitor, not for users to print on 8.5- x 11-inch pieces of paper. This becomes obvious the first time you try to print a Web page. Content you need may get chopped off by the right printer margin, whereas content you don’t need, such as the site’s copyright information, will print on its own sheet of paper. Fortunately, you can avoid such problems with a little foresight.

Before printing any Web page, open Internet Explorer’s File menu and select Print Preview. The current Web page will appear on-screen exactly as it will print on paper. Scan the preview carefully. If it appears that some content is chopped off by the right margin, click the Page Setup button located directly to the right of the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. In the resulting Page Setup dialog box, adjust the left and right margins so that each is set to 0.25 inches. The extra inch of space you gain by resetting the margins should provide just enough room to accommodate all of the content on most sites. Click OK to save the changes and return to the Print Preview window.

Next, scan the preview to determine which pages contain the content you want to print. Take note of those pages and click the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. Locate the Print Range heading and select the Pages option. Type the number of the first page you want to print in the From field and type the number of the last page you want to print in the To field. For instance, if you want to print just the first three pages of a Web page’s content, type 1 in the From field and type 3 in the To field. If your browser doesn’t have To and From fields, type the range of pages (such as 1-3) in the corresponding field. Make sure your printer has paper and click Print.

There is a possible short circuit over the printer head system due to moisture content caused by the previous action. Remove the printer head, power the printer, check the what happen.

Printer ceased printing, renewed cartridge, followed all recommended processes.but it produces blank return.tried on several computers, can it be a head problem? I need to print floppy disc content Any advice...

The first 2 things I would do are check that you are using genuine Canon cartridges and run a head clean on the printer.

Head cleaning options are usually available under printing preferences for the device.

HP Photosmart C7100 - only 10% of page printer

If your printer does not print the entire page, it is probably because the print head is clogged. Try going to print preferences and locate "maintenance". Find the "clean print head" option and click on it. Follow the instructions. You might have to do it several times, and that will use a lot of your ink, but it might do the trick!
As for the "printer can't get calibrate", that is refers to your print head. That has nothing to do with your cartridges, as they are just tanks with ink in it. Check this link, might help:

remove the cartrides, clean the printer head with cotton ear bud soaked in after shave (use only a mild men after shave) the after shave has a low content of alchol.
If the printer head is built in the cartride then clean the head of the cartridge, if the print head is printer based you may have to open the front pannel of the printer to access the printer head to clean it using the same method.

Ink not working

Assuming that all your cartridges are clean. Then the next step is remove your print head and clean it. If you haven't done this before, it is very easy. First printer's remove your cartridges and life the lever on the upper right hand side of the print head. If you have done this, skip the next paragraph.

Gently remove the print head and put it in a container, and fill it with hot water. I usualy empty the contents of a small bottle of ink jet cartridge cleaner into the tub as well. You should see the ink literally seep out of your print head. It's best to leave it for a few hours, but if you can't wait, leave it for several minutes, and gently press a folded paper towel against the print head base. It should make a clean impression. Dry it and put it back in your printer. Test print.

If your inks are clean, and you have cleaned the head. It's unlikely, but there is an outside chance that the contacts at the back of the print head carriage could be dirty. Gently clean them with a cotton bud dipped in ink jet cleaning fluid.

If it still dosen't work, then it looks likely that your print head is damaged and will need to be replaced. You can buy replacement print heads on the internet for about £50 pounds. (UK)

However, with the price of printers falling, it might be better to cut your losses and buy a new printer. I would pay a bit more and go for the Canon IP4600 which is the nearest replacement model to the IP3000. It also has separate ink tanks and significantly a removable print head. The down side is that the inks are chipped, so if you plan to refill them, you will need to plan to buy a Canon cartridge ink resetter to keep your printer happy. (About £20)

Hope it helps.

My MP530 willnot print black printed text. How do I now if the ink head is plugged and what do I do about it?

Hi ...

I would suggest you try and clean the print head and that should resolve the problem. Follow the below steps to clean the print head:

Perform a Cleaning of the print head:
Caution: Cleaning consumes a certain amount of ink. Perform Cleaning only when necessary.
Note: The pattern varies depending on the printer and version of Windows being used.
  1. Click 'Cleaning' to perform print head cleaning from the Pattern Check window and proceed to step 3 of the print head cleaning instructions. If the Pattern Check window is closed, skip this step and proceed to step 2.

  2. To perform a print head cleaning from the Maintenance window, click 'Cleaning'.

  3. When the Print Head Cleaning window is displayed, select the target ink group for 'Cleaning'.

Note: When performing Cleaning for Black only, deselect 'All Colors' and check 'Black'.

  4. After selecting the target ink group click 'Execute' to perform the cleaning of the print head nozzles.

  5. When the confirming message is displayed, check the contents, and click 'OK'.

Caution: Although the Nozzle Check window is displayed, do not perform any other operations until Cleaning is completed.. Cleaning will take about 40 seconds.

  6. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern and examine.

  7. Perform Cleaning again if necessary.

Memo: If the pattern is still abnormal after two Cleanings, perform up to two Deep Cleanings.

Perform Deep Cleaning of the print head
Caution: Deep Cleaning consumes a larger amount of ink than normal Cleaning. Perform Deep Cleanings only when necessary.
  1. In the Maintenance window, click 'Deep Cleaning'.

Note: The layout varies depending on the printer and version of Windows you are using.

  2. When the Deep Cleaning window is displayed, select the target ink group for Deep Cleaning.

  3. Click 'Execute'.

    mp_500_dph_cleaning_execute.jpg

Memo: By clicking 'Initial Check Items' before clicking 'Print Check Pattern', you can see the specific confirmation items in Nozzle Check.

  4. When the confirming message is displayed, click 'OK'. (The Power lamp will blink green and Deep Cleaning starts. The blink stops when Deep Cleaning is over.)

  5. When Deep Cleaning starts, check the contents, and click 'OK'.

Caution: To prevent interruption of the Deep Cleaning process, do not perform any other operations until Deep Cleaning is completed. When the operation of the printer is stopped, Deep Cleaning is completed. Deep Cleaning will take about 75 seconds.

  6. Print Nozzle Check again.

Note: If the printed pattern is still not normal, perform steps 1 through 4 of the Deep Cleaning process one additional time.

Caution: If after two Deep Cleanings the Nozzle Check Pattern is still not normal, turn the printer off and let it sit for 24 hours or more before attempting another Deep Cleaning again. The wait time may allow dried ink in clogged print head nozzles to liquefy, and resolve the problem
If this does not resolve the problem, please reply back and we'll try the next step ...

Don't forget to vote if this helps ... Cheers :)
