Question about Campbell Hausfeld 1800 PSI Electric Pressure Washer

1 Answer

In assembling my new power washer, I was unable to find where everything went EXCEPT how to attach and use the bottle for the cleaning fluid. The manual is very vague in this area. How do I attach the bottle to the unit for use, and how is the detergent released in the cleaning process? My unit is 15gpm, 1800 psi. thank you

How do you change fluid in power steering system

You raise the front of the car & support it if necessary,
to put a bottle under it,such as an old washer fluid bottle

Then remove the steering pump return hose from the fluid

Put that hose into some plastic tubing & into the empty bottle

Remove the injector fuses, so the motor gets no fuel

Crank the motor & the old fluid goes into the bottle

Add new fluid Dex/Merc or Mercon V to make sure the
container has fluid as you flush out the old

When done, return the return hose, clean up & start the motor
Turn wheels lock to lock a couple times, put it on the ground
& check the fluid level

Change trans & power steering every 3 years or they will
fail for sure.

Those two fluids will not remove heat after 2 or 3 years
in service.

What does a ge control assembly do

The control assembly does everything except temp. on most washers it tells the washer when to fill how much to fill when to empty when to spin etc. You need a new control assembly or a different washer.

Bleeding the slave cylinder

A simple procedure.. I use a length of clear plastic tubing..about 1m will do...with a snug fit on the slave cylinder bleed screw. Simply attach one end of the tubing to this screw and the other into a clear bottle with at least 50mm of clean brake fluid, making sure the end of the tube is immersed in fluid. Personally I like to place the bottle in the engine compartment where it can be easily seen. So with everything in place, open the bleed screw, fill the reservoir to max then begin pumping. After several strokes ..perhaps will begin to see fluid moving up the tube. Continue pumping until fluid begins to fill the bottle, with no signs or traces of air bubbles. Be sure to check the reservoir often while pumping , topping off as required. Leaving bottle in place, slide under car, tighten bleed screw disconnect tubing then remove bottle and tubing from area. Inspect for fluid spillage and if any is found, flood with clear water, close bonnet and test drive. Good luck.

Window washer does not work

the pump is located on the bottom of the washer bottle that you filll with washer fluid.look at the bottom of the washer bottle there should be an electrical plug and a rubber/plastic hose this is the pump they are attached too.disconnect the electrical connector and the hose.if you have fluid in the bottle have it drain into a container or remove the bottle from the truck and turn the bottle so the fluid won`t run out it.then change the pump.and reassemble.

Where do I put power steering fluid in a 2005 bmw x5

Hello Sir. Usually it would say in the owners Hand book you got with car? explaining all the controls functions of the car or 4x4? alternatively if you look under bonnet there only be four filling reservoirs: engine coolant water, washer bottle, brake Fluid, power steering. usually the engine coolant will be a largish cap about 2-3 ins either blue or black its NOT this one. The brake fluid Will be at the back of engine bay and so NOT his one. Washer bottle again will be a cap blue in color its NOT this one. the one you want should be near front of car /engine and should have a steering wheel symbol on it the caps usually smaller then the engine coolant and black attached to a small reservoir and when you remove it will have a dipstick attached to it or small spike attached to cap this is used to measure power steering fluid, hope this helps... Thanks Mike

How to trouble shoot a broken windshield washer system

Activate the washer fluid switch and listen to see if you can hear the pump making noise. If you can, the try disconnecting the washer fluid hoses and blowing through them to see if they are clogged. If they dont here are some steps to diagnose a faulty pump.

Fist find the washer pump, should be located at the bottom of the fluid bottle.
Second disconnect the harness from the pump, and hook a test light to both terminals.
Third have someone operate the switch for the pump and look to see if the light comes on.
If the light does come on then the pump is most likely burnt out. Replace the pump and you should be good to go.
If you don't have power trace the ground wire and make sure it is connected, then check your fuses and make sure none are blown.

Windsheild fluid runs out of the resivor

Most washer bottles have the pump assembly mounted directly in the bottom of the bottle and after several years the seal on the shaft between the pump impeller and the motor can become worn and hard and start to leak. Also the tube on the outlet of the pump could be loose or has become disconnected allowing any fluid to run out. To check, remove washer bottle from vehicle (you may have to remove other components to access the attaching bolts) and check security of outlet tube. If split or loose cut a bit off the end and re attch to outlet. If the seal on the pump shaft has been leaking and allowing water into the motor, there will be some corrosion on the inside and minimal lubrication on the bearings. You could try dismantling the pump and applying some water resistant grease to the shaft seal and bearings, but it would only be a temporary fix. Best option for this fault would be to replace the pump motor assembly.

What liquids go in each resevoir?

Coolant in 50% concentration goes into the coolant overflow bottle. Windshield wiper fluid into the wiper fluid bottle. Power steering fluid into the power steering fluid bottle.
You do not need to add any other fluids to these. Do not add water to the washer fluid bottle for example, if you drive in a climate that would allow it to freeze.

94 cadillac deville has nasty washer fluid in it

remove the reservior and thoroughly clean it, then put it back in and pump clean water thru system till it runs for the marks, mix 40% alcahol to 60% water in a spray bottle and use this to clean your windsheild, empty water out of res. and replace with windsheild washer fluid.the marks may be from washer fluid with rain-x in it, irecommend not using this type
