- SAMSUNG DVD-SH855M RECORDER WILL NOT ACCEPT BLANK MEMOREX DVD+R DL (DUAL LAYER) 8.5GB DISKS. IT REJECTS THEM AT THE AUTOMATIC FORMAT STAGE. THE MANUAL STATES THAT THE DEVICE WILL RECORD TO DUAL LAYER DISCS.Jun 18, 2008

that DL...can you tell me more about that particular rating?
I don't believe that the 2 diamonds are appropriate here, but that's what happens sometimes.

- according to CNET testing these DL(double layered) disks are NOT compatible with a slew of readers.Jun 18, 2008

Hi-
How about other brands? compatibility is one thing that technology can not control, technology has its limitations. try using a different blank dvd+r DL because there might be a compatibility issue with these thing or upgrade may be either needed on the software or hardware firmware update for it to work. keep me posted if you have questions. thanks!
