My Francis Francis coffee machine shorts out and fuses all the lights in my house. How can I fix this

I would say that it is probably your heating element. You need to install a GFI in your outlet to prevent an electrical shock, and that will prevent the machine from taking out the whole house, but it will take out anything that is on the same circuit.

    Don't try using the machine until you have it fixed. The heating element is about $20 and the labor about 1 1/2 hours.

Francis francis espresso x1 not turning on


The most obvious thing is the fuse in the plug. There are no fuses inside the francis francis (at least in the model I have).

Francis Francis 2004 build. Shut circuit breaker of house. Then, Machine turned on fine, pumped fine, but does not heat up. Looked inside, no odor of short? What is wrong?

You probably have a blown heating element. You can check it with an ohms meter. If you get no reading across the terminals, its blown and needs to be replaced.

valve in group head seized. remove 'shower' under group head with central screw remove internal spring loaded jet clean and re-install. Then run a de-scale.
