Question about DeLonghi Dehumidifiers

Open Question

Purchased new Delonghi DEM8.5/10 May this year. I'm just beginning to use the eqipment and note that whilst it works well on dealing with volume damp & converting to water, it has a habit of shutting down to fan only with the amber "centigrade" light coming on when the ambient temperature is 65 degrees F [I calculate 30.33 degrees C]. The handbook tells me that this light and function should click in when the ambient t is low (enough to avoid the "formation of ice"). I observe that perhaps freezing point is higher in the country where the equipment is made!? I need a solution to this problem now before the winter really arrives and it becomes a serious problem, indeed, rendering the equipment useless right when it is needed most.

You may need a new fan motor. If you can get to this
motor, with the power disconnected, see if the blade
is free to move. Do you hear any sound coming from
this unit?

Dehumitifier wont condense water

This happened to me after the unit was turned on after being off all winter. I've had it just two years. After speaking with "support" I gather that it needs a new condenser, perhaps just because the freon may have escaped. It may be a sealed unit. Anyway, the math works out to simply discarding it and buying a new one. For me, this means not buying a DeLonghi. By the way, their service centers are strategically placed in remote areas to attract the fewest claims HD
