Make sure the transparency light cable that comes from the lid is plugged in to the back of the scanner. If the cable is unplugged for any reason, the transparency/film options will not be available.

Do a complete reinstall.

2. Click Hardware > Device Manager (XP). Click Device Manager (Vista and 7)
3. Look for Imaging Devices, right click on your Epson scanner and click uninstall.
4. Disconnect the usb cable from the printer.
5. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP) Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Vista and 7)
6. Look for Epson Scan and click Change/Remove/Uninstall.
7. Restart your computer.
8. Download the SCANNER software from the Epson website. If you have the disc, you can also run it.
9. Connect the usb cable back to the printer and computer.
10. Try scanning.
If that does not resolve your issue, you might need to remove Epson Scan from the Registry and reinstall the software again.

Repeated message "windows cannot load OmnisuperCam" Followed instructions and reinstalled carefully twice. Photo Impression 6 loads and is active. OVT does not appear in control panel 'scanner and camers'

Hi.

This often happens because Image Copier installation must be done in exact order as described in the instruction manual. To fix the problem you need to uninstall and reinstall everything back in right order. Also remember to restart the system when required.
  1. Unplug the image copier
  2. Uninstall the driver (remove from installed scanners and remove driver files).
  3. Uninstall PhotoImpression6
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Install the driver,.
  6. Restart computer
  7. Reinstall PhotoImpression6 software.
During installation ensure that you authorize the system changes when asked. If possible disable any security software.

If that does not fix the problem, then the registry must be cleaned of any entry related to the scanner software. This is rather difficult to be done manual. You can try doing a system restore to a recent date before the problem started after uninstalling everything, and then uninstalling again if needed (application and scanner are there after SR), and finally reinstalling everything in order. If that does not work you can try a registry cleaner or reinstall the system.

Here a copy of the manual.

Blue screen in xp & system shuts down

Friend,
It is an indication that Windows is about to crash. You must do the following immediately:
1. Back up all your data if possible to a different drive. Or at least out of C:\Windows folder where MY Computer resides.
2. Go to www.ccleaner.com. And download CCleaner, the registry cleaner. What happens is that all programs registry themselves with Windows Registry. When yo uninstall the some do remove their traces from the registry, most do not. And the registry keeps bloating. This not only slows down the PC but also can cause a crash when a lot of junk is there. So use this CCleaner and remove all the junk from the registry. And you may not have to reinstall Windows. And if you have to then you have to and are prepared for it by having taken a backup of your data.

I have tried to uninstall epson TX100 printer from my computer by using add & remove programs but this does not work . How can I get it off my computer?

only System Restore can remove that programs inside in your Computer. When that options in the Control Panel is also necessary to uninstall & remove by using that Printer Utility Disk to be inserted into your PC. That Disc will help you to remove the Printer.
Good luck!

I have escndv.exe error problem with 4490 scanner. I've reinstalled the drivers and it still comes up

Hi there,

The first thing to try is uninstall the Epson Scan. Via either the start
menu item if one exits or from the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.

Reboot computer.

Install the latest driver from the epson web site -

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=50666&infoType=Overview

Latest is 2.68A for WindowsXP, etc.
You should go ahead and download a fresh copy from the web, your copy may be
corrupted.

After the install, reboot.

If that does not solve the problem.
You got to go deeper.

Remove the Epson scan. (again).

Backup your registry.
Edit the registry and remove all references to the Epson Scan.
Remove the folders and entries for Epson Scan in \Windows\Twain_32\

Reboot:
Install Epson scan.

Good Luck!!

The only way to modify the add/remove programs list is to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this, get someone to help who is, or just leave the registry alone.
It's best to back up the registry in case you make a mistake.
To back up your registry, see this article.

On to the fun part. Follow these instructions exactly. Note: this applies to Windows XP only. If you have Windows Vista, please modify the question.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedt32, and then click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  4. In the left pane, click the Uninstall registry key, and then click Export on the File menu.
  5. In the Export Registry File dialog box that appears, click Desktop in the Save in list, type uninstall in the File name box, and then click Save.
  6. Each key listed under Uninstall in the left pane of Registry Editor represents a program that is displayed in the Currently installed programs list of the Add or Remove Programs tool. To determine which program that each key represents, click the key, and then view the following values in the details pane on the right: DisplayName: The value data for the DisplayName key is the name that is listed in Add or Remove Programs.

    -and-

UninstallString: The value data for the UninstallString key is the program that is used to uninstall the program.
  7. After you identify the registry key that represents the program that you removed but which is still displayed in the Currently installed programs list of Add or Remove Programs, right-click the key in the left pane of the Registry Editor window, and then click Delete.

Click Yes in response to the "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?" message.
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
  9. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Currently installed programs list, verify that the program whose registry key you deleted is no longer listed.
  10. Do one of the following:
    • If the program list is not correct in Add or Remove Programs, double-click the Uninstall.reg file that you saved to your desktop in step 5 to restore the original list of programs in the registry.

      -or-
    • If the program list is correct in Add or Remove Programs, right-click the Uninstall.reg file on your desktop, and then click Delete.
