Hey jrforestgimp,
What this error code should mean is the camera can't determine if the batteries are rechargeable batteries or not. This happens when the charge on the batteries falls below 1.1 volts, because the camera can't detect what kind of batteries are in the camera when the charge is below this threshold. The way to remedy this is to either charge the batteries in an external charger, or buy new batteries. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Hi, my HP Photosmart M737 is not working and it's showing a message "Lens error -Code M730-022" How to get it fixed? Thanks!

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Canon A430 - horizontal lines

Tend to agree with you that it's a common design problem for the A430, but it's a very different issue than CCD failure mentioned in you referenced article.

Please see this Fixya post instead of the one that you mention above. Unfortunately, Canon has yet to officially recognize this A430 specific problem. But if you reference this Fixya post, (include a link), when contacting Canon (if in US, email is CareCenter@cits.canon.com. You'll have to research www.canon.com to find an equivalent UK email contact), who knows you might get lucky

Why won’t my camera recharge my batteries?

Not all cameras can charge batteries. CAUTION: Rechargeable batteries must never be used in the HP Photosmart 210 and 215 series digital cameras. The overload protection and control circuits are not designed to handle the kind of power intensity delivered by rechargeable batteries. If the camera is a model that does charge batteries, ensure the batteries are rechargeable: The only acceptable rechargeable batteries for HP Photosmart cameras are NiMH cells. Neither lithium nor alkaline cells are rechargeable, and they will not be charged in the camera. The camera must detect the type and condition of the batteries The camera will only charge batteries when it detects the batteries are rechargeable and in good condition. New rechargeable batteries, and/or batteries than have been unused for a long time will not be recognized as good batteries. If the camera fails to charge NiMH batteries, charge them in an external charger once, then use them in the camera. If this does not correct the problem, the cells are old and/or damaged and new cells must be purchased.
