Usually, my pump is off during use by swimmers....manufacture recommends running pump in 4 hour increments as that is how long it would take to cycle the entire pool. After swimming pump is turned on for 4 hours....hope this helps...

I need to reset the timer on my 633T Krystal Clear pump as we have unplugged the power and we can't get the timer to work.

You know the timer can only be programmed once and it is 24 hrs after the last time it ran. So turn it on at the exact time of day you want it to run every day, set the dial to how many hours to run and walk away. It should start up automatically 24 hrs later each and every day (as long as you have the on switch set to the timer position)

Sprinkler timer will not start pump. i need wiring help

have the same problem,, but the small button on the bottom of the start relay works to run the pump or if i put the two start 24 vt wires to the timer 24 vt spaces,, but can not get the timer to turn on the pump when it turns on the water, even tried the orbit help center, and they said it was faulty timer, so i replaced it ( another wasted 2 hrs to return the old and hook up the new one) only to find out it too was exactly the same results. Next round,, i look for a diferent brand timer and pump relay switch,,, hope this will solve my problem

Fedder Heat Pump not Running

you can check your heat pump on the outside by turning off the power and listening to see if it makes a whoosh sound. and then turn it back on you should hear it kick in. Is the outside unit running? Sounds like an electrical problem maybe in the breaker or the contactor on the inside of the unit. This is where the 24 volts from the thermostat call to the 240 volts to kick on the condenser fan and compressor. Be real careful in messing with this because of the high voltage.

I am looking for the most energy efficient way to run a 10,000 gallon indoor pool 365 days a year. Would i need a timer to optimize my electricity savings with the use of a Pentair IntelliFlo 4x160 pump or...

You run a pool pump based on pumping volume compared to pool volume and long enough to turn the water over frequently enough to keep it balanced and clear.

You should have no need to run it 24 hours a day to accomplish that since the pool is indoors and safe from the effects of weather and sunlight.

What you will want to do is determine the minimum amount of time then the pump needs to operate to keep the water balanced and clear based on fill water makeup, your chemical choices and bather loads and then set the timer to run the system for that amount of time and the pump for the speed required.

If you really want to be sure you are as efficient as possible you will need to look at the pump curve for your exact model and look for the point on the curve the pump is most efficient at, speed/volume wise and run it at that setting for the time you find thru experience mentioned above. That way the pump moves the most water it can at it's most efficient point for as little time as is required to keep the pool clean.

I hope I worded that in a way that makes sense.

Not sure how long to run pump

First, RECYCLE is a position that allows water to continue to circulate through the system, BYPASSING the filter. If there is a problem with the system, like an air intrusion/leak, by putting the filter in RECYCLE you can determine if the problem is in the filter, or another part, of your system.

As for how long to run the pump, it can be ran 24 hours a day. Normally, the average run time is 8 to 10 hours a day. Most city codes require that pool water is "turned over" one time daily. This means that all of the water in the pool is ran through the filter at least once a day. Usually, 8 to 10 hours will give you that requirement.

Hope this helps!
