This is most likely an issue with your drivers. Alternatively it could also be the fact that you may not have a sound card, if you purchased the computer as a whole from the store go to the device manager (found in your control panel) and look under hardware, from there look for the sound catagory and simply look for the option {update driver}. If you built the rig yourself simply google the drivers for whatever sound card you installed.
Hope it was helpful!

When answering mode is on I do not want to hear the ringing(4x) tones before going to answering.I've switched off the 'call screen' option. still I hear the ringing although not recording at least.

Just set the ringing volume to off.
You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high) separately on each handset or the base.
With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or turn it completely off.
Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won't ring. Other handsets or base will ring according to their individual settings

If you noticed it only on certain programs, you have already answered your question.
Although there are standards, advertisers want to get your attention so they want to be louder. Their way around the standards is using what they call the "average volume" of the commercial.
Some TVs have a setting in the AUDIO menu that will help your problem. The firmware in a few models can be updated in an effort to control this. Check with your manufacturer. They usually have a toll free number in the instruction manual.

My sony lcd tv has no sound after lightning storm

You may have a damaged audio circuit in the set:

Look to see speakers are switched ON in audio or main menu.

If using a box unplug it and the set or anything between set and signal source for a while and plug back to see if helps.

Also to narrow things down a bit look to see if a DVD connected alone directly to a rear input on the set has sound.

Can't get sound out of my speakers although sound registers as playing

Check that your computer isn't muted and the volume on the speakers is up. Check that the plug for the speakers is connected correctly. Check to see if the sound card that the speakers are plugged into is set as the default in the control panel. Is there any sound coming out of the front port (earphones). Try another set of speakers.

I am using hp pavillion dm4 1009 tu laptop and there is very less sound coming from speaker which is like unable to hear....... can u plz advise me on this.

You will need to adjust the device volume.

Go to Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices
Then make sure the slider bar below the Device volume heading is all the way to the right (As close to the High setting as possible).
Then make sure the box next to Place volume icon in the taskbar is ticked. And the Mute box is unticked.
If you click on Advanced it will take you to all the Master Volume settings make sure these aren't muted where possible and check that the little slider bar is in the middle of the two speaker icons. This will make sure sound will come out of both speakers and not just the left or right one.
If these are already set and you still get faint sound then you should try re-installing your laptops audio driver.

Music sounds great!.But the entering calls sound horrible,Ican't

The volume setting on your phone affects the volume as well. Turn the phone up more. If this has already been tried or does not work the keep reading. I believe the call sound comes only through a front speaker (maybe the right front...not sure but I can check on this). If the music seems like it sounds good (with all the speakers) there might be a slim chance that the one speaker that plays the call is not working well. Use the fader and balance setting to switch to each speaker one by one and play sound through it (preferably a commercial with people speaking). See if one of the front speakers is blown or at least does not sound good for voice. This would mean replacing a speaker front set.
