Hi there! On putting together my daughter's hide and slide (not having ordered it or seen it before) followed the instructions and managed to put the bottom step inside the frame instead of outside. Of course other half only noticed it once I had put the top step in - so to take it apart you will need the following:
Two long heavy duty flat bladed screw drivers and a lot of muscle!
First take the top platform on one side and disengage the two tabs on one side. Then insert one of the srewdrivers under the red locking tab and push up - the plastic will distort however, returns to original shape with judicious use of a heavy hammer. You will need to use the second screwdriver to disengage the clip in the tab and then twist the platform out of the frame to release the second. Repeat for the other side. The bottom platform is a just a reversal of the installation to release. I haven't moved the slide but as this is a 'gravity' fix should release with a bit of 'persuasion'. As these things are not designed to be taken apart after assembly they are frustrating to take apart - but with a little flex and muscle it can be done. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: climber side won't fit
Might be a manufacture flaw you need to click on the link below, create a account then file for a return autherization number.
Not much else you can do but return it back to the retialer and see what they can do. Boxes get resealed all the time and you might have the wroung part or a defective part.
